2000 Chevrolet Malibu Base Reviews
“Good Daily Driver Car”
Liked this car alot. It was a good, economical car. Had a V6 and still had decent MPG. Started to show it's age though at 60K miles. Very poor trade in value. Changing wheels from stock improved handling significantly.
Economical
PLENTY OF ROOM AND A GOOD RUNNING LITTLE CAR
“Strong Build, Minor Mechanic Problems”
Many ppl don't like US cars - At least those who I know. However, I'd say this car is absolutly the one you should have a glance at.
He has a very strong body, with black shining skin: ) so sexy! Riding on it, you will feel safe much more than some other Jap cars.
But I still need to tell you that things are not perfect. There are some issues you need to pay attention to which are beneath that nice look. Engine, brake, fuel pump strainer, coolant, gasket, etc. However, you are lucky that most of them are not big problem to you and the cost on them is reasonable.
So, in summary, nice car, deserve your considering.
“I Will Never Purchase A Gm Car Again”
Chevy Malibu...2000....Intake manifold gasket shot at 60,000 miles....The car has been the money pit from day one....will never buy another american GM product again.
Bought car after accident with my first one (air bags saved two lives - even tho she died later from the accident). Second one, the Malibu I have now had 32000 when I got it. She now has 103,000. Only repairs have been both front brakes (@ $600 and $100 respectively and intake gaskets at $671. Car rides well, handles well and I get 23 mpg in town and up to 33 on the open road. It is very comfortable and the cd player and radio are great (even if driver side speakers do not seen to work). The Malibu is attractive outside and storage and easy-to-get-to-it ness on the inside is outstanding. It (unlike some smaller cars) is very easy to enter and exit. The only reason I would change is influence of an older family member and my miles are climbing now. Have always used the best of products in it and have gotten decent fair service from it.
