1990 Competition Yellow, C4, Greenwood ground effects, L98.
This car is awesome.  A real "eye catcher" and one fast machine.  Handles great and lots of torque. Great performance, awesome sound, about 25 - 30 mpg.  This car is a lot of fun to drive and show well at the car shows.

Pros: Great Performance
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Great Performance - Lots of torque
Cons: None

The acceleration and braking are still pretty good for today's standards.  Handling is easily as good as today.  Build quality is fine, but a few squeaks over bumps.  More related to design than build.  Appearance is awesome.  Relatively cheap to own, gas is great on the highway.  And plenty fun to drive.

Pros: Gorgeous, gorgeous car.
Cons: Horsepower leaves a liittle to be desired, but it was 1990!

My old vette was beautiful, rare factory Steel Blue Metallic paint. Only downside.. it was 18 years old, and the previous owner did NOT take care of it as it should have been. Otherwise it would have been an excellent automobile. It ran great mechanically after I invested alot of $$$ into the neglected maintaince of the car. Changed and flushed all fluids.. etc. The only unreliable componet of these cars is the electrical system. GM has always made the vette with the most up-to-date high tech toys. Unfortunatly, sometimes these toys were still in "beta" testing. They go out easy and are extremely difficult to diagnose and repair.

Pros: Power on tap, it had a Jasper Class 1 performance 300hp motor.. L98 TPI based. But all that low-end, tire burning torque was very nice!! Also the color, handling, seating.. all very nice.
Cons: Gas, Gas, Gas.. it was the motor and tuning.. but 12mpg city is rapage!! Poor electronics.. hard to get in and out of the car.

i have a friend whose 1990 C4 I have driven to compare with my 1987 C4.  Both are awesome and fast, fun and reliable.  As with anything you must maintain it to keep it in top condition.  I am 6'5", built like an outside lineman at 310 lbs and have no problems getting in  or out and the legroom is fantastic.  the only car I have ever been able to sit and drive comfortably is a Corvette and I have owned 8 of them now from 1965 thru to 1987. For best bang for your bucks the 85-90 C4 is the best all around funtastic street menace you can get an adredalin rush with and not mortgage your soul for. I have never found finding parts either new or used a problem at all with all the internet stores and Ebay stuffed with anything you could want.

Pros: it will turn you on every time you turn it on!!
Cons: people who want a 2008 Corvette for a 1975 Honda price.....

Just bought it last month. The horn didnt work, and when I had it repaired, now the air bag, and seat belt light stays on when you start it. They say it does not  have the original air bag, and diagnotic codes in the service manual wont work in the DERM, also GM no longer has the codes for this old of model only 96 and newer, so can anyone help as to where copies of the codes for this model can be found, no one seems to know.    Thank you so much.

I purchased mine on ebay for 6K.  I always wanted a vette but never really thought i could afford it until this one came along.  Now i want to put money into it to make it the best vette i could own. The performance can't be beat for the price.
