1993 Ford Escort 2 Dr LX Hatchback Reviews

Not the fastest car i have ever owned but it was great on
gas, got pretty peppy when i put in the exedy Stg 1 clutch,
easy to maintain but no aftermarket mods made for it, i was at
least hoping to turbo it :(

ok for a starter or studnet car i guess

On my 2nd 93 escort now, and this one has 160K miles and still drives like new(ish). Not a very impressive car to start with, but it really hasn't gotten any worse, which is saying quite a bit, given Ford's reputation for shitty, unreliable cars.

Performace is just good enough to keep you from being bored, and just quick enough to get you out of bad situations, (quick lane changes and highway merging, squeezing through yellow lights and busy intersections, etc.)

With 88hp and a little over 100 ft.-lbs of torque, you've get a car that's great on gas and with a 5spd tranny, can be a fun car to drive, but you're in no danger of wetting your pants or getting whiplash as you jet from 0-60 in 8 seconds. Quarter mile of 18ish seconds is just about good enough to beat Michael Johnson on a bad day.

Another great winter car though, starts up on the first try and doesn't quit on you, even in our wisconsin winters.
