1968 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe Reviews
“Love Hate Relationship...”
An all time classic but mechanically I hate it.
“Great Fun, Ran Like The Wind Once I Put Radials On It.”
The original bias belted tires were no good in rain or snow, but once I put a set of 205/15 Michelin X's on the car, it couldn't be stopped except by deep water or snow. The car was great: good looking, good performing, and more comfortable to drive than an XKE. Luggage space was limited but a rear deck rack helped there. I logged a lot of miles from Chicago to St Louis to Amarillo, Denver, Seattle, and loved them all.
“I Drove A 427/435 Horse Unbelieveable Power And Cornering”
never had a car like this one I bought it for 3,100.00 in 1973 red with black interior four speed this was first year of t-tops this was one of the greatest idea's this car was your best friend that could scare you to death it could litteraly pen you back in the seat.I traded this for a seventy five corvette automatic air conditioning l48 350 in 1976 thought i was tired of shifting changing plugs once a week WHAT A MISTAKE KEN HENDRIX
“Fun Car To Drive, Ride Is Alittle Harsh”
I have 68 coupe with a recent body off restoration. Base 327/300 HP engine was bored 30 thousands and a Crane cam was added to improve performance. A numbers matching car that I changed the original white exterior to a Kandy Apple Red from House of Kolors. It is a real head turner. I enjoy driving just as much as my 2004 C5.
“A Head Turner, But A Bit On The "hard Ride" Side.”
Moves like a rocket, even with the automatic and the A/C on. Great car that still gets lots of compliments and looks.
Waiting for better weather so that I can take the tops off again.
