1997 Chevrolet Blazer Reviews
| “Torquey Little Bugger” Reviewing:
1997 Used Chevrolet Blazer 4 Dr LS 4WD SUV
Performance is awesome, I have beaten STI's off the line, but of course after that I lost. It is a pain in the ass to fix, that engine bay is tiny and full of a big V6. Styling is very conservative and easy to improve upon. MPG's are dercent for a mid 90's SUV, parts are cheap but not easy to put on. The steering is quite tight for a vehicle of this size so it is a fun drive. I do not recommend this car to anyone who does their own work, but if you are never going to turn a wrench on it this is a good vehicle
Pros —
Fun drive
Cons —
Repairs are a pain

1997 Used Chevrolet Blazer 4 Dr LT 4WD SUV
We bought it 1 or 2 yrs. used green paint. leather interior, fully loaded. Worth nothing now we got 2000 for it with trade in for 2008 caddy CTS DI. they sent it off for scrap metal.
Pros —
take it almost anywhere
Cons —
had to fill it up with gas about 100 times a day!

My ride for most of my college years, this was one of those "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" situations. I wasn't too terribly impressed with the gas mileage, but I do tend to push my rides quite a bit. With this ride I discovered just what POS's the Sony Xplod line of stereos are, and that I'll never trust a car stereo shop's work again (they left the 4wd controls disconnected). It was a comfortable ride, though, and served us well for the few years we had it.
Pros —
Comfortable and spacious
Cons —
Pretty poor gas mileage on the V6, granted I did drive the thing pretty hard. Trunk space couldn't properly fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood or drywall.

i am very happy with my blazer. although, i don't like the o2 censors and all of the electronicks. its fun to drive, small enough that i can park in compact parking spots.easy to drive and stylish. it also seems to run for ever if you keep it up
Pros —
size, looks drivability
Cons —
electronics.
