2008 Nissan Sentra Reviews
“Smoth And Comfortable”
this car has a lot of features that you cannot get in a civic. This car has a convenience pkg. which has a Bluetooth technology, foglights, leather wrapped steering wheel, and a itellikey.
I've been driving this car a little over 3 months and it is a pleasure to drive. Have driven dozens of cars over the last 3 years or so and this is one of the nicest. This car is a great commuter car with little wind/tire noise and an overall quite and comfortable ride. Even the CVT is very nice and works well. Have driven an 06 Civic which I didn't like for the fact that it was low to the ground, front seat had no lumbar support, and too much wind noise at high speeds. The Sentra doesn't quite get the gas milieage of a Civic but I average almost 30mpg mostly hwy so far and hoping for it to get better. The comfort level in the Sentra is also outstanting with lots of headroom and very comfortable seats even without lumbar adjustment. The Sentra also has many more nicer featers than some of its competition. The only car that even came close ride wise was the Hyundai Elantra; however, it did not have some of the tech features of the Sentra. The gadgets you shouldnt do without is the bluetooth and keyless ignition. Don't bother with the expensive stereo as it sounds almost the same as the lesser
+ Optional keyless start
+ Standard tire pressure monitoring
+ Open, airy interior
+ Supersized cupholders
+ Large glove compartment
- Drum rear brakes standard
- A-pillar can block view
- So-so styling
- SE-R is underwhelming
- No stability system
“Handling Is A Step Up From Prior Spec-v's More Hp, Looks Could Be Better”
Limited Slip Diff.
200BHP
180 Ft Lb. of Torque
Stiff hard suspension
Low Profile Tires
The car handles well in the turns, comparing it to prior Spec-V's this is definately a great improvement.
Other Reviews call it top heavy, but pushing it hard through the same turns as older spec-v's it can take them at a faster speeds.
Inside feels like a sports car.
Bucket Seats hold you in as you slam on the brakes through the front end into a turn and gas it out.
Reverse is a little confusing at first, it is moved right next to first gear, but a Reverse Lockout is located on the Shift Knob, so if you pull up on that by accident you may place it into reverse.
Body of the Current Sentra's so it is short and tall, but it looks fast.
Spec-V is only in a manual, but if you are going to be buying a sports car thats the way to go.
Interior is Black Bucket seats with Red Stitching and SE-R embroidered onto the Front seats. Red Seatbelts to match.
Overall its a wonderful car for the money.
Higher Redline
Loads of Grip
Great Stopping Power
Handling is superb
Looks are not the best.
Would like Xenon headlights
This is an outstanding value in it's class. I drove all the Honda and Toyota competitors before buying this one. I began with a bit of apprehension about the CVT transmission but it won me over completely. Extremely smooth. Interior is comfortable and spacious. Steering wheel mounted controls eliminate the need to take eyes off the road. Dash layout and controls are excellent and intuitive. Excellent exterior styling.
“Hands Down The Best Car Under 20k.”
I have owned a 2008 S model with the CVT and Smart Key. I paid 17,300, but I got the features of a 25K car! I was looking at Fit/Focus/Versa, but after the test drive I was sold on the Sentra. The CVT is leaps and bounds ahead of other CVTs I have driven. The cab is spacious and the partitioned trunk and rear seats that lay flat make for an extremely versatile car. I admit Im a hatchback type of guy, but the Fit and Versa are too small and underpowered. They are great cars,BUT the seat comfort of the Sentra is well above the 30K cars from other brands. My friend just bought a 28K Accord and I couldnt bear to tell him my car is more comfortable. I average 28-29 MPG in town and 31-35 on the highway doing 75MPH+. This car cruises very very well at 85+!
The bluetooth feature is a lifesaver. I feel much much safer with that feature and its really nice to keep both hands on the wheel when driving. Ride is just awesome and the CVT gives alot of low end thrust. The Smart key is real nice. I just press a button to get in the car and turn the ignition and drive away! Even better I left my key fob in car and the car let me know! I could go on and on, but I say buy one and see for yourself!
