“Minor Issues, Will Buy Another”
C2500 HD 2 wheel drive, had only minor issues with ownership. Oil cooler/filter bracket leaked when new. Factory alignnment way off, how does that happen, why can't dealer check? OEM tires junk. Biggest problem - steering system had a "bumping" feel and sound for first few years. Dealer says no TSB's on problem. Then, out of the blue a recall on steering column, seems thousands needed lower shaft replacement. New design fixed problem for only one year, problem returned. It's just annoying, they should stand behind their product forever if it is a design defect. But, nobody else does either, would buy a new Silverado when time.
Im lovin my "02" 2500hd. It has a little over 53,000 miles and so far the only thing I had to replace is my battery and a new rear seal. Funny thing is I had the rear seal replaced about 2 months ago and the other day I was hauling some firewood and my wife noticed that my tire was smoking again. For some odd reason that same seal is leaking again. Now how come the other seal havent blown yet??? I checked the oil in the rear end but there is plenty inside. Maybe I have a small leak. I plan on taking it back where I had the seal put in. Maybe it was a defective seal (I hope). Other than that its a pretty good truck. Hopefully it will last me a few more years.
