1984 Cadillac DeVille Reviews
| “If I Could Get It Running I Wouldn't Ever Sell It!” I have always loved the car, bought it from an older couple who had not driven it for 7 years. Have had many parts replaced but it is still not running like I need it to.
Pros —
made tough
Cons —
hard to find a mechanic that knows what their doing.

| “Bought This 84 Deville In 1997” for $800 from a used car dealer I worker for at the time. The original 4.1 engine had low oil pressure but with the help of "DuraLube" it lasted 12 months and 20,000kms before it started to knock. Replaced it with a 307 HO and rebuilt the trany with a stage two shift kit. That match really made the old car go surprising alot of people of the line. Sold it to a buddy after 3 years of use.
Pros —
Very comfortable to ride in, very elegant styling and class.
Cons —
Cadillac's 4.1 V-8 is the worst engine choice for a car this size.

| “Shortback. Gangster Rear Window, Self-leveling Suspension” This car was great. Another hand-me-down in high school that was a blast to drive. The vehicle was in great condition. Tons of power and luxury Cadi's are known for. I refer to this model as the shortback due to its comparibly shorter wheelbase and the unique back window. The rear window is short and wide like most chopped 30's hotrods. The rear window is also verticle, unlike most vehicles whose rear windows slope out to the rear of the vehicle. The ride is like floating. It actually tells you when the suspension is leveling.. super cool in high school! The extra weight and plenty of power made this a real joy! Modifications to the sterio performed extremely well, aka great acoustics.
Pros —
power, suspension, lines
Cons —
stock radio
