my family used to own one, and i loved the car as a kid. so when i needed a new winter
car and the opportunity came up to buy one, i did. $500 got me the car you see in the
picture. what a steal! these x-body cars from general motors are solid reliable little cars,
that for 1980's econo-boxes, arent too bad to look at, at least i think so. this skylark is a
lot of fun to drive as it is a front wheel drive car witha potent 2.8 liter v-6 engine. and with
that engine in this little car, it really moves out. the build quality is very good, considering
mine in particular has survived over twenty years of living in chicago-land and has hardly
any rust issues to speak of. its even comfy for a big, tall guy like me and it is a nice
departure from the big boats that i am used to driving.

Pros — quick, fun to drive, and good on gas.
Cons — transmission work can be expensive when needed because the whole front end assembly
needs to be taken out.
