2008 Jaguar XJ-Series XJR
400 HP in a full fledged luxury car, that's under $100K!!! It's a bargain beauty that constantly flatters and rewards its drivers. When I drove this I was serenely comfortable refined and very sexy, stomp on the throttle and it sounds like Barry White swallowing bees! It will throw you in your seat and it feels as though it's going to rip your face, it accelerates like its in a slingshot. Not to mention that Jaguar owners have rated their customer support far superior than any other manufacturer!
Pros —
Everything Just Brilliant! Also getting nearly 30 mpg on the motorway
Cons —
Not the same car as an S-class, but a very healthy and much needed alternative

| “2,500 Miles And Already Having Transmission Problems.” Reviewing:
2008 Jaguar XJ-Series XJ8L
I bought my 2008 XJ8L with zero miles on it and at 2,500 miles I started having what some web sites refer to as "the lurch". When I come to a rolling stop I feel a thump as the transmission downshifts from 2nd to 1st gear. It's not like the car wont run, but it's so irritating that I no longer enjoy driving the car. It's not what I would call a pleasant experience after just 2,500 miles for a $70K car. The car is now at the dealership for the second time. If they can't fix the problem after this second trip to the dealership I'm going to ask them to buy the car back from me.
Pros —
Beautiful body and interior.
Cons —
Transmission issues, poor finishing touches on trunk carpet, no rear view camera, no in-dash 6-CD player, shallow trunk, no keyless entry, no keyless start, and horrible navigation devise. I can overcome all of the shortcomings except the transmission. Nobody will ever buy this car from me with its current transmission issue. I spent $70K on a car I now hate to drive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the the dealer will fix the transmission. If they can, then all will be forgiven and all the cons will melt away.
