1984 Porsche 944 Reviews
| “1984 Porsche 944” what it lacked in 0-60 acceleration, porsche made up for it two fold in its superb handling. between being the easiest german car i've ever worked on, and very very stunning, aggressive styling, make this a car guys friend. drop the clutch and this 2.5 inline 4 will smoke the tires. i was also able to locate an after market stroker kit, which i believe would make it comparable to the 3 liter 4 cylinder that porsche put into the 1990 model.
Pros —
stylish, quick, aggressive, fun.
Cons —
approx. 7.9-8.3 0-60

| “Porsche 944 Modified Look..”
My car is a slightly modified version of the stock model, its got the turbo front bumper and a rear spoiler from the 968..
Pros —
The attention it gets because of the special colour..
Cons —
I've crashed it 2 times, so the rims are ruined..

| “It Has Great Performance And Brakes.real Nice Car For Twisty Open Roads” The only problem i have is the quick loss of traction in turns at low speed. And its a maintance cost is realy high. Its a fun car to drive on the open roads not in town because the lack of power steering and its ride hight. If u are not a Porsche fan it is wise not to buy one
Pros —
It has realy good road holding if u drive it right if not u wil experience a lot of traction los
Cons —
The lack of power steering

| “Incredible” not the fastest car in the world, but ill never find one that handles better
Pros —
unbelievable handling, perfect 50-50 weight balance, very very well built.
Cons —
a bit underpowered for my taste, but can hold its own against a mustang gt.

| “Best Bang For You Buck By Far” This car can be picked up for around 4-6 grand and is a blast. It handles great and even though it is old, it has a high quality engine in it and will last.
Pros —
Attractive body, easy to drive, quality.
Cons —
Expensive timing belt. Not an amazing amount of HP

| “Amazing” I own the non turbo version so the acceleration is not what it could be. The car is the best handling automobile that I 've had the pleasure of laying my hands on. The trans is in the back to make for an almost perfect 50-50 weight distribution. One problem, which I knew before I bought the car, is all the little things that go wrong with it. Just make sure to keep it well kept or your going to blow a waterpump/timing belt and have to rebuild your engine.
Pros —
The looks I get on the street
Handling
Cons —
Little stuff breaking down

| “An Automatic 944” My cheap find - I bought the car for $350 (and it RAN FINE) :)
Pros —
Handled like a dream. Was probably the most solid car I've ever owned. Engine needed little to no work and maintenance was almost non-existant.
Cons —
Was falling apart a bit on the inside. But I loved it all the same.

Cons —
small back seat

| “Money Guzzler At 20 Years Old” Drives Awesome, powerful engine even after 20 years of service. Big electrical headaches ... but still a Porsche that is great to smile at in the morning!!
Pros —
50-50 weight distribution and great handling. Lots of fan clubs and sources for upgrades and spare parts. The perfect fixer upper project.
Cons —
Can be costly if you want everything to work right, 4 cylinders is shy in power relative to the 928 beast.

| “50/50 Whieght Distrubution” handled great, interior was luxurious, faster then most 4 and some 6 cylinders. wasn't the best looking car but also wasn't the ugliest either. i liked this car because it was comfortable to drive, both in seating and ride quality, and it saved gas compared with an 8 cylinder.
Pros —
handling was superb
Cons —
not that quick
