1986 Nissan 300ZX Reviews
| “Z31”
Not terribly light or fast, but was the fastest car I'd driven once the turbo motor was wedged into it. Electrics were not so hot, transmission went through clutches a lot (or perhaps I did), and it liked to understeer. Lots of fun on twisty roads though, even so.
Pros —
Sporty, sounded good, great seats
Cons —
Understeer, looked like a doorstop from 3/4 angle

| “Z Car” This car is amazing, it is my first car and would not trade it for anything else. Accelerates well, turns excellently, and brakes better then many new cars. I am getting the body repaired at the moment but once thats done, the car will look in great shape. I love the flippy headlights. RWD fun of course. great car, not great on gas. If your a person who loves the car they drive, buy a Z car.
Pros —
Everything
Cons —
I have a None turbo automatic....

| “The White Knight” I bought this car cheap from a neighbor with 135k miles. The drivetrain was bulletproof and never left me stranded. I hated the whole 2 seater thing, that got old. It got pretty good gas mileage and was decently quick. It got rear ended when it had 175k miles. And the original A/C worked even then. Nissan builds great cars but I wouldn't buy another 300ZX because they are a royal pain in the ass to repair or maintian, costly as well.
Pros —
reliable, good fuel economy, quick
Cons —
cost of repair, limited amount of knowledgable technicians to fix it.

| “My Car” I use it for performance driving and I'm alive.. No, complaints. Well apparently I need to type more about my car. Well its steering is squishy due to a bad rack and power steering pump, also is breaks need to be upgraded and i need to get proper sized tires in the front since they are 5mm too tall and rub when I drive through the canyon. . Suspension: Tokico shocks with suspension techniques springs, ST sway bars with poly everything, and DMS subframe bar. Engine: VG30et Single ko3 turbo with HKS bov, HKS Pop off valve, Greddy profec II, Some crappy intake. Interior: Momo steering wheel, sparco torino seat (its heavy, but adjustable), autopower roll bar, and HKS Gauges, oil pressure and temp, and boost. I probably forgot some mods.. but thats it.. Its fun to drive. If you got this far congrats..
Pros —
It runs
Cons —
Not well..

| “Hp Baby” It handles like a go cart, but I'd still like to have more horse power... a new engine like a VR38DETT is what I'm looking at. |
| “It's 23 Years Old!!” boostin at 8 psi, rear wheel drive with a 5-speed. t-tops. krome rims
Pros —
turbo, fast, sleek
Cons —
2-seater, leak in exhaust, too many tickets

| “I Freakin Love This Car!” The Z is advanced for it's time, I mean come on, an 1986 car with auto everything and climate control?!? But the only downside is all of the technology, it adds weight and makes it feel more like a GT car rather than a true sports car.
Pros —
Plentifull power and great responce
Cons —
The added weight, and mechanical complexity.

| “Dont Know What This Means” the car is wonderfully white trash. could not have asked for a more horrifying car. man do i love this car.
Pros —
trailer trash. hedious, loud, fast, fun to drive, t-tops for the mullet club, 257,000 miles and still runs. hit a deer at 80mph and still runs. and what a beauty she is.
Cons —
car over heats, draws cops near, lost licens driving car due to "loud engine roar of speeding car". car drives like a boat, weighs a crap ton and has little crappy breaks for the car. nothing works the way it should. with all this being said, the best $800 i ever spent.

| “Old Slab”
I bought this hunk of junk about 5 years ago. A friend of mine actually found this car and she convinced me to buy it.
Pros —
Fast, sleek, T-top, uncommon, low insurance, no emmisions, 2 seater, turbo...
Cons —
Takes high octane fuel, very heavy (hence the nickname "Old Slab") , not as cool as a civic or cavalier :P
