“Is A Very Stabel Car And Like To Keep It For Many Years To Come ”

“Weak Engine (1.8s) But Sturdy Doors”
Worst part of the car is that it's front-wheel driven only (not quattro). Front loses traction too easily (on thick snow especially) and back tires are very nearly useless (just there to keep floor off the ground).
1.8 liter carburettor engine is weak and carburettor freezes easily in near-zero (celsius) temperatures. This is one of the last cars by Audi with carburettors: fuel-injection was available in the previous year models already.
Heats up nicely in below zero temperatures if heater element has not started leaking.
Front has disc brakes with simple design (usually works) but rear has drum brakes which can be prone to failures. Rear suspension is just lame: panhard-rod, solid rod between tires and no anti-roll bar in the rear. McPherson-type shocks and springs in front and back.
Build quality is ok, lever for turning signal in steering has a weak part and needs replacement of the entire set of levers when broken (expensive).
Transmission (manual) is easy to operate and gearchanges are quick and easy. However, changing from first to second needs sensitivity as first gear is not synchronized and other gears are.
