My '73 had the inboard brakes, plug-prone Solex carb, torsion bar rear. When I'd tell any car-guy what I was driving they'd say "So sorry!" But I loved that after 150K mi it handled great, great pick-up, it didn't rattle, that it didn't smoke, it rode great.  I had fun working on it true, but I would any car.  I still measure a car's  ride/handling, weight/power/durability and fun against owning that car.
