2007 Volkswagen Jetta Reviews
“Cute Car For The Money...but Don't Expect Anything Spectacular.”
Volkswagens have always been intriguing to me, although I never listened to what people said about having them in the dealership. I fell in love with the Jetta, and bought it on an impulse. Needless to say, I don't think I'd ever buy another one. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine car, it's just not perfect. It gets terrible gas mileage, only averaging 250 miles to the tank. The interior is very comfortable however and I doubt I will ever drive another car without navigation again. Heated seats are another "luxury" that VW seems to put as a standard feature in most of their vehicles. The backseat is roomy with both seats folding down to have full access to the large trunk. There are two 110V plugs in case you ever wanted to say, plug in your laptop on a road trip. Did I mention the passenger seat folds down FORWARD to use as an ottoman for the person in the backseat? There is also an iPod adapter in the glove compartment and 6 disc cd changer in the console.
I can see myself getting a Jetta in one circumstance: if it was a GLI. Other than that, no thanks. This one is too slow and too mainstream. Everybody has one and it's just not special.
The worst thing about owning a VW is the service you get from the dealership in my area...Hewlett VW in Georgetown, TX. No rental car, terrible service, and my car has been in there multiple times for the same problem... which can't seem to be fixed.
