My 2001 S600 just turned over 106K miles and rides almost like it did when it was new. Although its louder when you are outside the car, the ride inside is pretty much the same. Maintenance costs are brutal. If you buy a used S600 with over 80K miles, plan on spending about $4500 in maintenance at least twice a year. Parts are very expensive and labor is worse. I consider getting rid of it at least twice a year but then do the math and keep on driving it. Cant justify the price of a new one when this one rides and looks so good. |

This car is the absolute definition of luxury. ABC Active Body Control has been needed on a few occasions had water pump replaced at 52K had extended warranty (yea!!) otherwise no!!!! issues. I always here people complaining about the S-class, and I say to you how about trying preventive maintance. That means on a regular basis, like oil changes every 3K to 4K miles.
