1990 Mercedes-Benz 560-Class Reviews

This car is amazing, it has the luxury from being an s class but will out run a mustang 5.0 any day of the week. It gets good gas mileage for being a 5.6 liter engine and it runs a 14 second 1/4 mile at about 95, and tops out at 170. and there are very very few of theses cars around so it is cool to be able to own one, mine which is 1987 is one of 2,000 that were imported into the US.

IT was a 560 sl that car was by far one of the best evr made. It looks excellent in every detail althugh it is a bit outdated the fun factr is a 11+ the build quality is gd but have had many costly repaiirs for that car

I love this machine, and it performs as to my expectations. This car is quite over engineered and there are electronics for everything.
Many of the options available on the 560 SEL are right at home on today’s luxury sedans.
Airbags
Traction control, also known as Accelerated Skid Control (ASR) to prevent wheel spin (a Mercedes First)
Seat belt pre-tensioners ETR enabled all seat belts (with exception of rear center lap belt) to tighten when the car sensed conditions that could lead to an accident; such as sudden, forceful braking. (a Mercedes First)

Courtesy lights on the underside of the doors, to enable the occupant to see the ground when exiting the vehicle in the dark. Also on the 560 SEL are rear cabin reading lamps aimed at the rear seat occupants' laps so as to avoid distracting the driver at night.
Eight-way powered, dual stage heated front seats, with two setting memory functions for both front occupants to retain positions of power adjustable steering column and seat position for driver; and seat position for front passenger.

Exterior temperature sensor with display set in main instrument console below the speedometer to inform the driver of exterior conditions.
Four-speed automatic transmission with a topographical sensor that monitored the vehicle's position (whether on an incline or decline) and gas pedal position. The result was an extraordinary capacity to "hold back" acceleration when coasting downhill and to maintain the S-Class' position without using the brake pedal after coming to a complete stop on a steep incline. The transmission also featured a "limp home mode" in case of electronic failure and was programmed to start in second gear so as to permit smooth, wheel spin free launches.
Cruise control that used the transmission's topographical sensor to appropriately add and cut back the throttle fluidly as needed in order to maintain the desired set speed. The result was a cruise control that was free of the sudden throttle inputs and undesired downhill excess speed that plague many current cruise control systems.

This car is great to travel in. It is designed to easily cruise down the highway 125mph in comfort and safety. Extremely comfortable car.
