Reviewing: 2003 Used Volvo XC70 Base

good car, first year of production some flaws appearent but nothing major. few repairs but were taken care of by volvo free of charge.

Pros — good car, great sound quality, safe.

Cons — had some trouble starting in extremely cold weather but was fine once it warmed up a bit.

I purchased this car with 36,000 miles on it--I have wanted a Volvo since I was a child; my opportunity came when I turned the horrible "40" and decided this my my mid-age crisis! I love this car--it handles well, I have had NO issues for the past year I have owned the car, and I feel very safe with my children on board--the way it handles on the snow-covered roads is amazing, and I cannot get over the engineering that goes into this car!

Pros — Handles well; reliable; every "toy" you could ask for!

Cons — The humming noise that came from the muffler almost drives me to crash into the ditch to get the noise out of my head! The audio system sucks beyond belief; when you have to replace bulbs, fuses, etc. you can get pretty frustrated with how difficult it is; when I want to change my own oil, the system makes this feat almost impossible (for a woman, anyway!).

I've done my best to get it stuck in snow, ice, slush and mud and have yet to do so. It's the quietest, smoothest and yet, rugged enough to handle bad weather and roads.

Cons — It only gets 24 MPG on the highway, which for a 4000+ LB car with AWD isn't so bad.
