1997 Used Volkswagen Golf 2 Dr GL Hatchback
it's an old car but still loved by the old skool boy racers.I love the fact that i've got tints on my car and the sound of the engine,as it's a VR6 but i do treat it badly so therefore it does need lots of TLC.I think theres a problem with the engine mount so if i start to drive over 40mph the car starts to shake and rattle,plus i've now been told by the garage theres a next part that i need something about some breather(don't ask i have'nt got a clue) But apparently this is going to to cost me the best part of a 100quid thats not including labour when the cars good it's good but other than that it attracts far to much attention as when i 1st got it even with a cliffords alarm on people would still come by in the night and nick parts of,of it WTF.

Solid, reliable, awesome on gas. Only the antenna is in the wrong place, but they fixed that in the later models. It's been pretty inexpensive to own this car. I've owned it for 4 years now. Acceleration and braking are great. It drives very well in the snow. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend!

The antenna--very annoying when you're trying to wash it! (and so I don't!)

1997 Used Volkswagen Golf 4 Dr Trek Hatchback
Overall a good car, it's nice to drive and handles well. Doesn't sway too much while cornering at higher speeds. Some low-profile tires on 17" rims would greatly benefit the handling of the car.
Pros —
Good layout of the interior, nice seats, decent power for the 2.0L, good on gas.
Cons —
Lacking the power of the VR6 motor, and the rear disk brakes are non-existent.

drove this baby into a house at 90km/h. had it not been for the solid german craftmanship, sincerely doubt that i would still be here! just some bruising from the seat belt and 4 stitches in my head because it went through the sun roof. oops!!

has +235k miles on and hasn't always had the easiest life. trans is on the way out, cv shafts clicking (not good), catylact converter is clogged, and has rust :( but looks ok from bout 10 feet away :)~

4 doors, paid for, and little things to make it mine

about to die :( and 2.slow
