1999 Used Volkswagen Golf 4 Dr New GLS TDi Turbodiesel Hatchback
My Golf GT TDI is probably one of the best cars i have owned so far, it is very reliable and has the performance to match, with over 180 BHP!!. With the fuel prices continually rising too i am more than happy with the 50+ miles to the gallon it returns, so this makes it very practical and exceptional fun to drive

| “Rattling Fun!” The VW Golf GTi is a overall good car with a few little weaknesses. The power of the turbocarged 1,8 litre engine is very nice, and the recaro leather storts seats come in handy, because the handling is good enough to throw you about a bit. The thing i dislike the most is build quality. Especially the interior is starting to make alot of rattling sounds. But apart from that. Fun car! =)
Pros —
Turbo engine, recaro leather sports seats, good tight handling, and, easily tuned. =)
Cons —
Not the best build quality on the interior. Cramped engine compartment.

1999 Used Volkswagen Golf 2 Dr New GL Hatchback
A nice little car, that's is very nervous. It will give you a jump when you need it. Seems to be a dormant little thing but surprises you on how it handles. Never had a car that can handle winter driving like this one, without four wheel drive. i can't wait to buy my GTI!!!

| “Great Solid Car, Golf Has Always Been A Good Car & Its Lived Up To Its Name.” Swaped this car for my BMW. Its not as fast as the BMW but for a 1.8 20v im very suprised with the performance. Its 125bhp, like new to drive, very solid car & very clean inside & out. Ideal for the mrs to drive, has all the safty fetures that the top spec cars have, really impressed with the car overall, i think i came out with the better deal. Got lots of extras coming to tart the car up, set of 18" alloys, rear smoked lexus lights, R32 side skirts, front headlight eyebrows & a mash debadged grill, gonna get a nice twin exhaust nothing boy-racerish though.
Pros —
Good handling, plenty of power, good breaks, lovely interior, lovely to drive.
Cons —
Expensive insurance but had it cheep on-line, expensive tax.

1999 Used Volkswagen Golf 4 Dr New GLS Hatchback
The Golf IV was a good looking car, confortable and easy to drive car. I really appreciated my 1.6L, the engine was much more powerfull than other 1.6, but a bit weak if the car is charged on a mountain road. Handling wasn't great, more like a boat than a sport car. The build quality of the interior is really amazing, like one from uper class cars. The breaking is excellent too.
Pros —
good look, economic and punchy engine (1.6), confortable, easy to resell, great interior
Cons —
handling like a boat, realibility not up to japanese standards nor old golfs,

1999 Used Volkswagen Golf 4 Dr New GLS TDi Turbodiesel Hatchback
Very comfortable ride yet readable handling (fun to drive), feels well-built and solid, low fuel consumption. The engine is a bit noisier in the cabin, especially in 120+ kmh. Vibrations in the cabin when in idle. Had several problems with reliability of some less important parts which was a bit annoying. Overall, I liked the car.
Pros —
Well built, economic, comfortable, low fuel consumption.
Cons —
A bit unrealiable and noisy.

Its been lowered, has racing suspension, performance tires, tinted windows, and an 800$ kenwood stereo system in it. not bad.
Pros —
very responsive, drives like a go kart on steroids, has no trouble on exit ramps doing 90. pick up isnt bad either. quick little thing.
Cons —
i have a hard time making it lose control. not good for doing donuts.

1999 Used Volkswagen Golf 4 Dr GL Hatchback
This car was good to me for being my second car, although the tranny was a waste of space, the power windows always seemed to screw up, and it almost seemed like it was doomed from the beginning. My mother still owns her.... 6 power window motors, 3 transmission, a blower motor, 4 speakers, a massive brake failure (ruptured brake line), and a lot of work later.... she's still alive..... Although I wish my mom would just get herself a new car and end the misery already.
Pros —
Fond memories.... Thank you ladies..... You all should know who you are. Was my second car and I could do a lot of impressive things with her. Short and wide wheelbase.
Cons —
Automatic, Erratic Tranny, Power windows blew chunks, speakers couldn't take a beating, and although I have fond memories, I would have preferred the Camry my mom wanted to get.
