2002 Volkswagen Passat Reviews
| “Nicest Car I've Ever Owned” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Passat GLS
Didn't ever expect to find a sedan that was both fun to drive and extremely comfortable. The turbo engine, for it's size, is really quite amazing. The gas mileage is pretty par for the course for a 4 cylinder engine. There have been occasional problems with the overall quality of the automobile, but for the most part it has been pretty trouble free.
Pros —
Fun, Comfortable, Roomy, Luxurious
Cons —
Electrical problems here and there, but nothing ever serious.

| “Good For Now But Ready For Mods :)” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Passat GLX
I bought it used... so of course there were a few things that needed to be fixed. Overall though its great, handles, brakes, and accelerates like a dream. For most people the appearance would be beyond satisfactory, but as a teenager I look at it and always think about the things I wanna do to it. The interior is awesome, leather seats (very comfortable), wood accents, good quality stock sound system.
Pros —
Brakes and acceleration are both above par. Amazing interior.
Cons —
Although the majority of cars are... expensive to repair.

| “Best Car Ever!” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Passat GLX Wagon
Our first VW that Mollie and I have ever owned. This thing is fast and looks good to boot! Basically, it has the same engine that went into the Audi Avant and has a tiptronic tranny. We bought it used with 32k on the clock and since then have put over 20k of our own miles in almost two years! It's Mollie's daily and then some. We are almost always in the pslut as it gets better gas mileage than my truck and is more comfortable.
Pros —
German engineered and built! 2.7L V6, Tiptronic, Fully loaded (every option avail. in '02) GLX trim.
Cons —
Musty odor that comes and goes (can't get out) ever since moving to the south.

| “My First Company Car” Very nice, no complaints, good 130bhp tdi engine

solid, quick, economical
Cons —
can't think of any to be honest

Tinted Windows, Sleek, Love this car.
Pros —
Good looking, torquey, reliable
Cons —
expensive on maintenance.
|
| “Superb Performance” nice, spacious interior, very responsive engine making the handling so good and not too technical (since most modern cars are) and moderate fuel comsumption for a V6 engine
Pros —
affordable
Cons —
cooling system isn't decent.

| “Fond Memories” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Passat GLS
The 2002 Passat was the first new car I ever purchased, so my memories of it may be a little rosier than the reality. But I recall the car as being a decent performer with good gas mileage. It had a nice ride, the seats were comfortable and it had that cool-as-hell VW dash lighting. Oh, and the stereo was fantastic.
Pros —
Good value, good performance, nice ride, clean look, great stereo
Cons —
Fairly milquetoast

| “2001.5 Vw Passat” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Passat GLS
Silverstone grey, bought new right when the B5.5 body style dropped, 5spd euro sedan. Loved every minute of it. Torquey and fun 1.8T with the stick.
Pros —
Fun fun fun. My first new car...
Cons —
Sold it, shouldn't have.

| “Quick When Used Right.” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Passat GLS
This car has always been enjoyable. Got it with leather and the but warmers work great. Once you get this thing past 90 its like driving a sports car it just doesnt want to stop. The turbo works magnificently.
Pros —
Good pickup if you hit it right, Comfy ride, and a pleasure to drive
Cons —
Bad gas mileage, Straight line performance kinda sucks, Turbo lag.
