For some reason, it has its good days and bad days.  Braking still is amazing, handles like a beauty.

Build quality, have had a few things go wrong. Various electrical problems.

Appearance, black exterior, black leather/ cream custom interior

Cost, easy on gas, very easy to maintain...so long as its not an electrical problem

Fun factor.  my personal road legal go cart

Pros: very safe, handles like a dream
Cons: few too many bugs

Performance: acceleration was good, the handling was good, brakes were ok

Build quality:  Way too many repairs needed on this car.  Within the first 2 months of owning I spent about $1500 on fixing it.  In the 3 years I owned it I spent about $5000 on repairs.

It was a fun car to drive but way too many problems than you would expect for a VW.  Would NEVER recommend any type of VW to a friend.

Pros: Gas mileage
Cons: Too many repairs needed

This is probably the most fun car I've ever had. While the 2.sl0 engine isn't the peppiest without a turbo, it certainly can get up and go when it needs to. The best thing - it is so incredibly roomy for the driver and passenger.

Pros: Color, Comfort
Cons: No turbo in this model

It's a lot of fun and had some great options... sunroof, heated seats, etc.  Lots of great memories in this car as well.  The one problem for sure is that there isn't a cd player available as well as it's expensive to fix!!

Pros: They're actually a lot sportier than you would think!
Cons: no CD player available!!

Everyone who knows me, knows that i have had ALOT of problems with my car.  Fortunately for me, they have all been covered under warranty for the most part.  Despite all of the electrical and other problems, i still LOVE my car.  i know that i will buy a bug again in the future when i trade this one in.

Pros: Cute, Stylish, Compact
Cons: Some electical problems

In the fall of 2002 I decided to downsize from my Lincoln MkVIII.  I was really looking for a Subaru WRX when I spotted my Reflex Silver New Beetle Sport on the lot.  The Sport model features the 150 HP version of the 1.8T (Volkswagen/Audi) engine and is absolutely loaded with all the options (except auto trans) and has unique 17 inch wheels which feature body-color trim inserts.  This car is very much what you could call a "sleeper" because on the road the only outward sign of performance potential is the automatic rear spoiler, which pops up at over 45 mph.  A peak under the fuel cap will show two recommended tire pressure ranges, for sustained speeds of less than 100 mph and over 100 mph.  I had considered trading up to the 170 hp Turbo model, or the more powerful Audi TT, but have found for $1,400 and about six hours of greasy fingers and busted knuckles I can upgrade the turbo and re-flash the ROM to end up with about 270 hp.  I would also recommend putting on a set of Bridgestone RE 960 AS tires.  They're awesome in all kinds of weather.

Pros: Fun to drive, great seats, great brakes, lots and lots of highway go power.  Gets lots of compliments after six years.
Cons: Mileage could be better (it's a turbo thing), poor design causes the driver seat to wear out on the outside edge, car washes can be mean to the silver wheel paint.

I absolutely love my little car except for the electrical problems I had with it in the beginning.  Nothing warranty can't fix though :)  It's absolutely beautiful inside and out and very roomy insisde although it doesn't look like it.  It is a blast to drive.  The gas mileage is great and the maintenance is not too bad considering it is a German vehicle.

Pros: fun, cute, cheap on gas!
Cons: recall issues and electrical

You cant mistaken the New Beetle for any other car on the road. 6 Speed, 180hp, two tone leather seats, 17" delta X alloy rims that dont come on any other model VW. Unique front and rear bumper and a rear spoiler that goes up at 45mph and down again when you stop.

Pros: 6 speed, fast
Cons: Blind spots

Great performance on the street, lacks all the high end power you want for highway driving.  Impractical for any long period of time. Overall, great car for the money, blows away all the others in its class in the sprint.

Pros: Lots of power in the low end
Cons: Impractical
