2002 Volkswagen Jetta Reviews
| “2002 Jetta 1.8t Tiptronic” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Jetta GLX
electronics ... simply that ... everything about the car was amazing but the bugs with the electronics were the end of it ... that and 8,000 dollars to replace the tiptronic transmission ... i would have to say that it was however capable of surprising many more powerful vehicles in terms of a 20-80mph run ... the gearing was perfect for the turbo
Pros —
performance and road feel
Cons —
electronic gremlins

| “Low Cost Good Car” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Jetta GLS
I've had this car for about a year and a half and put roughly 20k miles on it so far. It is one of the best cars I've owned. I've read many bad reviews on the car and it's series and it was listed in consumer reports cars to avoid. Mine is slightly rare in that it is the GLS, leather, premium sound, moon roof, seat warmers, etc. but it's manual transmission. The only problem I've had with this car was in winter time in Washington state. The rain gutters clogged up and caused water to get into the car. I was easily able to treat the issue and it was a few months before it happened again. I may be annoyed with this issue every few months but now I'm living in southern California and I park my car in a garage. Issue avoided. The car is responsive and handles well. Plenty of trunk space. I get complements on it all the time. People say it's a cute little car or that it just looks good. People who sit in it are usually impressed with the look and feel, especially at night. Though the back seat doesn't have much leg room for a 4 door. The cup holders block radio control and the readout. However, there are buttons on the steering wheel so it's a minor issue.
Pros —
good looking inside and out.
Cons —
not much leg room for a 4 door,

| “With A Few Upgrades, Not A Bad Car.” This is a great all season vehicle. Decent performance (1.8t model comes with 180hp turbocharged 4 cyl.), but for me needed better wheels and tires. Got it with only 53.000 miles on it for 9,000 and picked up a 3 year/36,000 miles warranty that I found very useful. Good about of trunk space but has the 60/40 fold down seats. Good looking interior, but would have been happier with leather.
Pros —
Economic 4-cyl with turbo, good sound system, sunroof, roomy
Cons —
Body roll, service visits, seat fabric catches lint

| “This Car Rocks!” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Jetta GLS
I loved this body style! This a top-notch quality car and I miss having it! Great in the Winter and snowy conditions! A nice 4-cylinder, gas was good as well. The interior styling was to my taste & had some great options, such as heated seats for the Winter. The handling was godo as well. Maintenence is a little tricky b/c some shops will not service a VW...but the hassle is worth it b/c that car rocks! I love the gray leather too!! The only complaint is that the cupholders suck.
Pros —
Performance, exterior and interior styling, gas mileage, handling
Cons —
Cupholders

| “Black 2002 Jetta Voltswagon” Its not the best car but its a good car for me now. When I first got it everytime I took it in something was wrong with it like the sunroof, brakes, radio, lights. I think it was because the owner that I bought it from didn't take care of the car.
Pros —
Its very easy to drive if u can drive manually.
Cons —
The cost of repairs are expensive.

| “Third Volkswagon” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Jetta GL TDI
I love the 50 plus milage but there has been a lot of things break in three years. We have 170 000 kms on it and I am determined to double that amount. I love the drive of this car and for two of us it is perfect. For all four it is way too small.
Pros —
Mileage
Cons —
Poor build quality

| “Stellar Performance!!” Reviewing:
2002 Used Volkswagen Jetta GLS
Its a Jetta 1.8T, so its TURB'Od!!!! The thing is a dream to drive, the power from such a small package is amazing. Gas is rediculous anyway, and since its aus Deutschland it'll be expensive to fix if something goes horribly wrong. Other than that, i really don't anticipate doing anything but loving this car!
Pros —
Turbocharged performance, excellent tight handling, smooth and quiet ride, all wrapped in a beautiful black and cream interior and catchy and shapely red exterior!
Cons —
took about 4 hours to adjust to the different throttle needs cuz of the turbo.
