Awesome car, fun to drive, with the exception of the turbo lag, the acceleration was great.  Could stand to use a few more horses though.  Handles great and would handle even better with a few minor suspension tweeks (to much yaw in the rear during hard cornering).  Solid build quality/fit and finish.  Interior has very nice amenities for the price.  AWESOME on gas, Avg. about 31mpg @ 85-90mph

Pros — Fun to drive, German precision at it's best
Cons — Turbo Lag, reliability, hefty repair costs

Reviewing: 2003 Used Volkswagen GTI 20th Anniversary Edition

The 20th Anniversary GTI has all the benefits of building a car from the Audi and VW parts bin.
The car in stock form is sporty and comfortable.
Small electronic items have been replaced like sensors and coilpacks.  A very fun car stock but a BLAST when tuned.
Mileage is 18-20mpg driven in anger and 35mpg driving miss daisy on the highway.

Pros — Good looks and great price
Cons — wish it was all wheel drive.

Reviewing: 2003 Used Volkswagen GTI 20th Anniversary Edition

My 20th was quick, and with the REVO chip, it would get places in a hurry.  Bigger brakes and a stiffer suspension over a regular gti were pluses, but being a hatch it liked to get light in the back end (you can fix this by stomping on the gas through a turn, feels weird at first but its all about weight transfer).

Its a vw so squeaks weren't on the top of my list of concerns, and most of the problems with it were covered under warranty.

It looked great and the 18s were hot, but it was still a gti to some people.  Interior was amazing, with recaros wrapping you through turns and an all black interior which just looked amazing.

I got about 27-30 mpg driving conservatively, but once I started to rip on it, seeing 20-23mpg was not uncommon.  I had a warranty covering most of the problems, but with only 70k miles, the car already needed transmission work (not even my fault, one of the forks broke), and other minor headaches.

The car was a blast, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else, but with german cars, the labor is not cheap so when something breaks, be prepared if you can't do it yourself.

Pros — Reliable, fun, quick
Cons — Build quality

The Performance of the car is great, it is very well built as most VW's are. The handling is great with the lowered sport suspension which comes standard on this model. It also comes with 18" rims and a body kit and performance exhaust. Great car to own and will recommend it to anyone.

Pros — Great performance, Love the appearance.
Cons — Needs bigger Turbo

really like it
I have streetglow everywhere on it
plus a diverter valve
very nice i think
it is a pretty rough ride
my suspension is starting to squeek at 53,000 miles
the appearance is okay VW could have done better but whatever

Pros — good torque for a car this size
Cons — not fast enough , only got about 180ish horsepower

I've owned this car for over a year now and still have no complaints about it. It's fun, economic, reliable, and it's a VDUB!
I'll write a more "in-depth" review later when I have some time.

Pros — Affordable, fun, economic, very quick, good potential
Cons — More expensive to maintain than similar cars but it's well worth it.

Heated seats, sunroof, 60/40 split rear seats, city gas mileage is great! I've put just under 40,000km on in the first year and have had the inner CV Joints replaced, new tires, the left outer CV Joint replaced and the Struts (makes you wonder what and where I drive to eh?) It's been pretty good to me so far...

Pros — Speed
Cons — Highway mileage not so good...

Love this car, it's super roomy for 4 people (5 as well). Trip-tonic makes it fun to drive without the hassel of the clutch.

Pros — Speed
Cons — A little hefty in gas on the highway...
