This truck was my first new car purchase in 1991. What I can attest to is the reliability. The clutch was original up to about 2002 or 122,000 miles. The computer was replaced in 2004 and since then no problems. Other than that, I kept it up with regular maintenance.

   Since I live just off the coast (California), the exterior has taken a beating, showing minimal surface rust and fading. The body wasn't too resilient as there were many dings and scratches. But what the heck! It's a truck, right?! I recently had it painted and added a Herculiner roll-on bedliner. Other than that, the truck remains original but I'll be adding a passenger-side mirror which may have been an option back then. And possibly a rear bumper.

   In years past, this pickup did have some get-up-and-go for the rather small engine size. Though it lags a bit now. However, it still accompanies me on those rides to the land-fill, the hardware store, and of course the daily drive. And it still makes the occassional drive down south to HRO.

  If you have a chance to pick one up, I would inquire on the life of the computer and clutch/transmission. Otherwise, these trucks run forever.

I loved how I knew exactly how to drive her. I could put her into slides and have full control. Bitch's engine block cracked though, same problem Kyle had with his of the same model. So, reliability sux.
