| “0-60 In Under 7 Seconds And 4 Up -its No Grandads Car!” Reviewing:
2001 Used Jaguar XJ-Series 4 Dr XJ8
This is a 150 MPH autobahn killer lets not beat about the bush. Available with 2 engines in the UK there is a 3.2 and a 4 litre V8. The 4 litre is the clear choice, 0-60 appears in a rapid 6 and a bit seconds and tops out at 150MPH. The 4 litre has very similar MPg to the 3.2.
Pros —
It’s a Jaguar, great engine, ride, looks comfort, silent running, stereo. Pick of the bunch would be a 2002 dark Blue with Celtic alloys.
Cons —
Early engines have Nikasil issues (until about sept 2000), all engines are susceptible to timing chain tensioner issues, they are about the 3rd revision now… Some designs of water pump have impellors that just snap… If the thermostat blows (they jam shut!) you may cook the engine….
Costly Jaguar dealers and joke prices, - use specialists instead. But trust me, do your research and you can avoid all this.

| “Classic English Elegance, Seldom Overtaken” Reviewing:
2001 Used Jaguar XJ-Series 4 Dr XJ8 Sedan
This is the last of the lower XJ series and has a more purposeful and balanced look than the later version. Everything just works quietly, whether it is in a slow queue or cruising at 120+ on a motorway, which means you get in at one end and get out at the other quite relaxed.
Pros —
relaxed, confident in any conditions, endless power, few people would know it's not new
Cons —
22mpg
