| “Be Aware Of This Truck If You Don't Know What You Are Getting Into” Reviewing:
1997 Used Ford F-150 2 Dr STD Standard Cab LB
Okay if you are ever going to buy a late model ford f-150 you better steer clear of it especially if it has the 4.2 litter v-6. Ford was dumb enough to put aluminum heads on a cast Iron block and they didn't machine the heads to were the heat could get out quickly so around 80000 miles it throws the connecting rod through the oil pan and runs your motor of course then the idiots building it put plastic in the front wheel bearings and they are junk we had them rebuilt about 2000 miles ago and it doesn't get very good fuel economy it only gets about 17 and 19 if you are lucky. My advise to anybody wanting to buy a truck like this just be prepared to deal with cheap manufacturing. Ford won't even admit that they had problems with this motor. Also if you buy the manual transmission its notorious for burning clutches

Ok well this truck is my first truck and I completely enjoy driving it. Its a 2wd V8, and it runs like a dream. The only problems I have experienced with it would be the countless recalls on the cruise control, exhaust, seat mounts, and so on and so on... So I would totally recommend this car to a friend because it is a great ride!

I love my 1997 Ford F-150 Lariat. It was previously owned by a doctor so it was taken care of. Gas kinda sucks on it but thats alright i guess! Of course since it is a truck it is hell of fun to drive. And the 5.4L Triton has PLENTY of get up and go and torque for hauling.

1997 Used Ford F-150 3 Dr Lariat 4WD Extended Cab Stepside SB
Love my V-8 engine with a 4.6L. Good pick up, great top speed. Overall apperence is awesome, only downside is that all three of my doors are rotting at the bottom and need to be replaced and my step bars into the truck have rust holes in them. I have 17" super swappers on them, with an upgraded suspension and towing package. Looking to put a lift kit on it this summer for an increse of 6".

Its a truck! the only bad thing is the Brakes suck! I get great gas mileage it is around 15 MPG around the city and about 17 when I go on long trips!

Sturdy, takes a licking and keeps on ticking, comfortable interior, not
too long for maneuvering through parking lots and narrow places, handling is good.
Cons —
Front heavy, skids easily, no 4-wheel Drive, braking faulty because of
front heaviness, acceleration nonexistent.

I have had this truck for about 4 months and i love it. I have put dual exhaust on it and installed an aftermarket radio It has a K&N Filter on it and BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO's on it the biggest you can put on with out lift

It is all stock. Has cut off exhaust louder than stock but not to loud. Has mud tires and usually has mud on it.
