Great car.  Third one and looking for another or M6 for upgrade.  The car handles great, looks beautiful and again FAST...

Pros — Handles great, brakes are solid at high speed, revs high (8250), bullet proof motors.  Great for track car or daily driver!
Cons — Dinan upgrades are very costly...spent over $20,000 for mods.

The car as pictured has a body kit (under the doors between the wheels) and a chin spoiler. I've since removed the chin spoiler, the previous owner had attached it with wood screws and it started falling off.

The car is fantastic; very fun to drive -- it'll go as fast as you want and always has more to give. I get compliments from strangers all the time, which I really didn't know was part of owning it (I think most of that has to do with the rims the previous owner put on). Guys at stop lights yelling across lanes of traffic to tell me how much they like it, several people have offered to buy it from me on the spot, gas station attendants leaving their post to come check it out, cars next to me giving me the thumbs up, etc, etc.

I'd never driven a convertible prior to this car and there is nothing quite like it. I won't drive as fast with the top up because I lose some of my sense of the road, with the top down I know exactly where every car is, nothing is hidden, you can hear the cars approaching... all of that adds up to more confidence in maneuvering at high speeds (120+ mph) -- one of these days I'm going to have a hell of a speeding ticket, probably with license revocation. But until then, I continue to be very lucky (instinctively slowing down just before I come upon a speed trap, while the guy I'd been racing continues on and gets picked up).

The after-market racing tires (Nitto) tear open in the winter when extremely cold out (sidewalls are harder and thicker than normal and when cold have no give so they tear). Have to suffer through winter with the top up. The after-market low-profile rims and tires make for a very rough ride.

Pros — Fast, fun, beautiful. Great handling, precision steering, abundant power (333 hp)... I love putting the top down any chance I get.
Cons — Everything associated with it is expensive. I replaced all the brakes on my Jeep for $800, M3 brakes cost $1500 (they are ultra-high performance with cross-drilling and vented to keep them cool... all that costs $$$).

What can I say, rear wheel action for fun and frolics in the wet combined with the good fuel economy for its performace make this one of my fave cars. Anyone thinking about buying one should just get on with it, its superb.

Pros — Lovely interior with all the bells and whistles, I could even watch deal or no deal on the way home from work on the TV!
Cons — Nothing really, I loved it

Got the SMG version - good acceleration

Pros — Handle, acceleration, looks (at least during 2002)
Cons — Too much "little" problem here and there...
