I bought the car with 231,000 miles on the original engine. It's been converted into an STS car for autocross and this is SOOO much fun. Running circles around more expensive vehicles is a bonus. In California, you still see a lot of these hatches driving around.
Pros:
Light, so good gas mileage.
Cons:
Brake booster weak, soft brake pedal. Distributor fails occasionally.

This was my 89 Hatch that i owned, completely gutted on the inside, only two buckets and the dash was inside the car. Was completely set-up as a race car basically: Adjustable coilovers(almost slammed), camber Kit, engine and hatch strut bars, rear sway bar, racing wheel with quick release, and short-throw shifter. Under the Hood was: a Swapped D15 block with a D16 head, Stage 2 Clutch, Mild Cam, Full Intake, Header, Full Exhuast, and Multi-Port Injection. Theres a few others i forgot but you get the point.
Pros:
Extremely Lightweight, decently quick, set up like crazy, and handled awesome.
Cons:
Not the prettiest to look at, needed rims and tires, and sloppy work done to it.

Watch for rust in the wheel wells.. Most remaining SI's have been riced out and beat on..

This car gives a newbe the feeling of fast, but with a great feeling of control. it has handling what is unbelieveable, breaking remarkable, and acceleration which can actually make you feel like your fast.. it design is simple, and build was made to last (without an accident), it was cheap to buy, and cheap to own. over all for a 1st car it was fun as can be.

they dont call it a honda for nothing... honda== hold on not done accelerating other than that the motor is really strong and you can beat them into the ground and they will run forever if you maintain them right..

Slow acceleration, average top speed "170-180", stops on a dime, handles okay. these cars aare solid, thin metal but doesnt quit. my old ones bin threw hell and back and is still kickin. crashed and beat up. thse cars are tank

very little maintenance required to operate. car will take one hell of a beating. car is a blast to drive, and handles exceptionally well given that its a 1.5 L. i quite like the square styling on the exterior. all in all I'd buy one again.

It drives like a go-cart

This is my first Honda ever. I become i fan with this model, and now i drive not 1, but 2 Honda's. There is no other car to compare the fun, when i am driving it. I just love It! :)
