1987 Toyota MR2 Reviews
| “Poor Man Lotus” The car is perfect the way it is, not too much power or too little. Not to big or too small. Since its a Toyota it will last very long and they don't build cars like they used to. Funnest car to drive. It is a real poor man Lotus and like Lotus I can't go shopping with it.
Pros —
Great handling and cheap to run.
Cons —
Don't do furniture shopping in this

| “Awesome Little 2 Seaters, Absurdly Light And Nimble, Awesome Cockpit Layout” Interior can feel a bit cramped but fit my 6' frame like a glove. I love the 'glove' feel and the cockpit layout. I also love the TTops and the fact the engine is behind my seat and putting out an amazing 115HP to move that < 2100lb car. Very fun! I'm so sad I sold it but it needed more work than it was worth and the body was very very bad.
Pros —
2 seater, ttops, fast, best handling EVER
Cons —
about 25-30MPG, less than you'd expect, aerodynamics aren't so good, coolant lines are a pain to bleed, no trunk space and they like to rust away

| “Cheap, Reliable, Pretty Quick And Puts A Hell Of A Smile On Your Face” It's kitsch and 80's, not the quickest sports car around, but it was cheap and the handling is great, fantastic fun to drive
Pros —
Fun, fast, thrill a minute, will put a huge smile on your face and you can pick em up and run em for next to nothing. Pop up lights!
Cons —
They rust. Badly. Especially the rear wings and sill

| “Like Driving A Go-cart.” I've owned this car for about 8 years and I love it. It handles great, is quick and is a blast to drive.
Pros —
Quick, handling, reliable,
Cons —
My muffler fell off and it doesn't have much room for all my stuff when I move. It gets pretty crammed.

| “Bawlin”
This is the most fun car I have ever driven. The sheer simplicity of everything, i.e. no extra,
Pros —
body styling, mid-engine, rear wheel drive
Cons —
a little under-powered, rusty rear-quarter panels

| “I'll Never Sell It” First car I ever truly owned. It has a jap import Supercharged engine and it is a little screamer. Very unassuming and will tear larger capacity cars to shreds. Just don't push it in the wet. With the extra power it can light up the rears without much effort. But it is also lightning fast off the line if you can get it right. Most fun in the twisties.
Pros —
Roadholding, one of the best engines toyota ever made, brilliant doorstop looking profile
Cons —
no top end power, will kill you in the wet if you're an idiot
