Needed a total restoration. Was sitting in storage for many years and was used as parts for another 57 Chevy. But it was my first car. I learned fast. they are interesting cars. they arent as good as the 58's which i have owned one also. On the other hand they are easier to get used to because they are not as big as the 58's. Parts are plentiful and usualy easy to work on.

Pros: 50's styling, comforatble, easy to work on.
Cons: it needed alot of work and parts

A gorgeous car.  As a wise man once told me no matter what car you drive it wishes it was a 1957 Chevy.  This car is my Dad's and it is no normal 57 instead of the original 6 cyl it has a performance built 454 from a 1970 Chevelle SS.  It has 500+ horsepower and it's performance is amazing in a straight line but i wouldnt want to take it into a corner.  The interior is amazing and the outside is even better but the gas mileage is enough to kill OPEC.

Pros: Power, styling, heritage.
Cons: Gas mileage.

The '57 Bel Air is an automotive icon. Instantly recognizeable on any road. It runs like a bat out of hell with an original 283 but can easily be upgraded to have any larger engine. Its fun to drive and is a head turner on the road.

Pros: Becaue they are amazing
Cons: No reason. Get one now

Straight bodied 57 2dr sport coupe, the best  shape of this 50's icon car.
The performance built 402 big block (7.0L) makes sure this car pulls really well, stopping and conering however are not so great!.
Electronic bypass valves allow exhausts to be either open header or through flowmasters so noise wise, this is a real jeckyll and hide. The wide overlap cam gives the awesome V8 burble on idle and on full thrttlee the noise is somehwere between epic and biblical..
Gets looks and thumbs up wherever it goes.
Not for Wallflowers!

Pros: Epic noise and acceleration, can't stop smiling when driving..
Cons: 9 mpg average..

1957 Chevy Belair 2 door sedan. 1968 327 c.i. engine with AFR heads, Comp Cams retro roller Big Mutha Thumpa cam, stud girdled, hydra rev kit installed. Turbo 350 trans with 3500 stall converter. Out back, a '57  Olds rear with 4:30 geared spool. I drive it like a rental car. I've broken and smashed every part on this car since 1990. Dont like that? Too bad!

Pros: Looks, sounds, goes good.
Cons: Tires dont stand a chance.

Car didn't stop turn or accelerate. It had body roll like
a royal navy ship of the line and had no creature
comforts not even a padded dash but was a barn find
and two tone green. The car had 36000 original miles
on it and hadn't been on the road since the seventies
so the spare tire in the trunk was rotted and the gas
tank fouled but was fun to drive and show off. You
can't mess with a classic. We had the inline 6 cylinder
engine with a rochester 1 bbl carburetor.

Pros: looked great
Cons: a real boat.

The nineteen fifty-seven Chevrolet is the coolest regular production car Ever made. The style is one of a kind and there has never been anything close to it. Popular as a family car it also was a huge hit with the 2 door coop that was very sporty. Then came the muscle cars of the 60's and big V-8 engines were lifted into the 1957 which could accept up to a 454 cubic inch engine or about a 6.2 Liter engine. With a lift kit in the back and "Cheater slicks", you were ready to drag race on the strip.

Pros: Style and beauty
Cons: Cost

well i've never seen it in my life but, my dad says that his old '57
Chevy is in a shack on the farm in Preston county and this pic is pretty
freakin' close to what it would look like if we fixed it...only thing is
ours is a 2 dr not a 4 dr...but we just might get a winch and trailer
hooked up to my truck and go get that thing out of the farm this
summer...so i'm waiting for the day

Pros: classic american collectible
Cons: never seen it in my life...but that might change
