2005 Toyota Sienna LE AWD Review

This minivan handles like a much smaller car. It's easy and fun to drive. It has great pick-up, too. I love most things about it except for a few glitches: the rear doors freeze shut in the winter unless I remember to put WD-40 on them, the outlets don't work and my mechanic doesn't know why. The door-open light doesn't tell you which door. The run-flat tires have to be replaced frequently. Otherwise it's a great car.
Pros:
Roomy, great pickup and handling
Cons:
Freezing doors, run-flats

PERFORMANCE - Acceleration is great for a minivan, Braking reaction is great (not too sensitive), Handling is good (soft response)
Pros:
Overall, still worth buying for it's safetiness, roominess, quietness, and beautiful appearance.
Cons:
Expenses of Run Flat tires, but you don't have to get them.
Recommended: Yes

Love the space. Definately big enough for adults or teenagers in back. Solid performance with few repair issues. Dislike that rear door, defroster, automatic window and other things have broken. Would recommend this car to others. and others and others.
Pros:
Solid, reliable transportation.
Cons:
Lots of little issues.
Recommended: Yes

Considering the US fuel economy, we were looking for a vehicle that was spacious for family use, had good mileage, had comfort, gadgets, looks and all in one package. Only Sienna fits the profile!
Pros:
All of above!
Cons:
I hated the part of the run flat tires having unpredictable life span.
Recommended: Yes

When the kids come along, it's time to be practical. Toyota dependability. Cheaper than the Honda with the same features.
Pros:
Practical, utilitarian.
Cons:
It's a minivan. :)

When you slow down to 10/15/20 MPH, and then step on gas, the RPM,s go up but no power is tranferred to wheels for a few seconds. Have been trying since 2005 to get Toyota to come up with a cure for this. They say this is "Commercially acceptable" for this transmission. Looks like arbitration is my next step.I have found other Siennas and Camry's on web sites with the same problem. | ||||||||||

I've had the car in to have it checked 3 times; it checks out perfect on the diagnostic. But it still only will get 12 mpg city /17.5 mpg country.
