1995 Honda Civic del Sol Reviews
| “Del Sol” VTEC performance in a shape well ahead of it's time. Lot's of wow-factor and fun with the hard top versatility making it one of the first coupe/cabrio sports cars. Very tunable but rear suspension needs lots of work and weight balance is too biased to the front making the rear too light when on the limit.
Pros —
Looks, Roof, Tunable, Overall feel
Cons —
Light rear end make it tail happy

I have the 1.6L SOHC VTEC (aka D-16 A3) It performs fine as a daily driver, and performs well enough to reach the "fun to drive" category. But it's not exactly race-ready out of the box. 125hp + 2300lb = Good times.
Pros —
Great gas mileage, especially if I keep it out of VTEC on the highway. (almost 40mpg highway w/o VTEC) Targa Top is officialy badass, and not to mention an aftermarket 1,000 watt stereo, and 2-way security + remote start.
Cons —
Wish I had the DOHC VTEC. Some rust is starting to show up. and the size of the car makes trips home a little cramped.

my leg !! |
| “Never The Slightest Problem, Perfect Car” I have the smaller engine, getting 40+ mileage without exaggerating. The only thing it lacks is a bit of acceleration which can be fixed
Pros —
Mileage, fun, targa top, customizability
Cons —
No back seat (But 4 glove compartments and a large trunk) only bad if friendS need a ride

1995 Used Honda Civic del Sol 2 Dr VTEC Coupe
A lot of people would scoff at the idea of a 2 door car, especially a small one with a 4-cyl engine, they'd probably go for a BMW Z4 or the like, but for the money, you can't beat a Honda Sol.
Pros —
Convertible, Great economy [about 26 mpg], rear window rolls down. Nothing beats driving it with the top off and all the windows down!
Cons —
The removable hardtop is a bit cumbersome, especially if you're by yourself and have O.C.D. against fingerprints.

I loved this car and i still do, where ever it is. This is a picture of the day i bought it before i did some work under the hood. All i did for the exterior was altezza tail lights, Xenon headlights, and a wax job every couple months. There are only a couple things i regret about this car - i got rid of it, i was broke so i couldnt put a whole new 200hp Integra Type-R engine in it, and i ended up putting the cheapest parts in it. But i was still able to get a full cat back exhaust system and that connected to a high performance header. Of course i got the cold air intake with a by-pass valve cuz im not tryin to suck water into my engine. And bbout a year later i got popped for my first DWI and was forced to sell my baby because i just had to get the 'top' DWI lawyer in COL Robert Murray, he pretty much got $2000 doin nothin. This wasnt the fasted car ever but i was always lookin Fly. This whip is '03 fo sho
Pros —
I was such a pimp in this car, '03
Cons —
I need this ride back!!!

Well if you are looking for a fun car for the summer, this is where it is at. Yeah I know it looks like a Chics car to some. But this little bad boy was one fun car when it came to pulling the top off and rolling to work. Killer gas milage and well it auto-x like a go-kart.
Pros —
*Removable Targa Top
*Interior designed around the driver *Aftermarket Parts available *For a small car it was quiet!
Cons —
*Notorious for the door panels to seperate
*Even the Si had WEAK power *Mine never leaked, but known to leak |
