There are plenty out there, but this is a true Italian beater..

Pros — Speed, Price, Looks and ease of modability.
Cons — Slightly inferior quality interior, but it is still damn good, if interior is that big a deal, send it to Carravagio and expect to get a car above Ferraris and Lambos.

Gearbox, needs a little work, but i heard the 2008 onwards are a lot better.

I love this car.

Every time I am in the market for another sports car (which is every time I wreck the previous one), I cross shop those at the same performance level and those at the same price point....and twice now, I've ended up at the Corvette.  At the same price point, the BMW M Coupe and Porsche Cayman S are very, VERY compelling...but ultimatley fall short.  So do lower priced sports cars, such as the Mazda RX8 and the Nissan 350Z.  At the same performance level, the Corvette is priced 1/3rd less and still matches or outperforms it's competitors from Porsche, BMW, et al.

Plus, its gorgeous.  What's not to love?

Pros — Where do I start??  The performance, the looks, the sound, the feel.  Everything you buy a sports car for.  I like the transparent roof and the fact that it is removable.  I didin't think I would like the bling of the chromed wheels, but they've grown on me.
Cons — Because of the low-slung proportions and seating position, the car feels longer and wider than it actually is.  It's actually only an inch or two longer than a Porsche Cayman S. (Really!)  My previous C5 got a lot better gas mileage, but it did not have the free flowing intake/exhaust that this one has nor the 6sp manumatic transmission.

0-60 in 5.4 seconds, 4.2 if you whomp the gas.  6-cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission.  Black convertible top, nice wheel base, low to the ground aerodynamic, and fast

Pros — Convertible, fast, 5-speed, wheel base, cornering, acceleration, deceleration, roomy, cosy.
Cons — head room

In terms of performance, this beast is top of the line. Not many street drivable cars compare with the 2006 C6 Z06. Brakes, acceleration, and handling are well above the norm. And for those times when you want to show the guy next to you at the red light what a real car looks like, you can pop the vehicle into competition mode. Doing so enables a 1st - 4th gear jump, giving you less drag time trying to shift gears.

Pros — 505 HP
198 MPH
'Nuff said.
Cons — It drives like a rollercoaster due to the closeness to the ground. You will definitely feel this ride more so than others.

Flashy and fast is the Game that the 2006 Corvette plays.  This car like those that came before follows the fast car at a reasonable price.   With a 6.0 400 hp V8 that replaces the 5.7 350 hp V8, the Corvette stays relevant in the performance car market.  Measuring 0-60 is no longer relevant, it is better to measure 0-100 instead.  Although I never got the liberty to take this car on a twisty mountain road, it still is satisfying to drive as long as your not in traffic or have the misfortune of following a cop.  The Car I drove was fitted with the 6 speed Automatic with paddle shifters.  While the Slush box is able to keep the acceleration close to that of the 6 speed manual, the paddle shifters are not as quick at shifting as a standard manual transmission.  This corvette was fitted with Borla exhaust and it is guaranteed to turn heads when you stomp on the throttle.
Like all corvettes, the bargain price creates some compromises.  Although the interior is improved from the C5, it still is not fit for a car that cost about $55,000. The seats are still terrible, and when pinned in the seat due to acceleration, you can feel the framework behind the cheep padding.  The steering also feels to synthetic and makes you feel sort of isolated from the road, but no worries Corvette lovers, because I believe they have addressed this in the 08’ model.  While the Composite body saves weight, the rear bumper feels, well… flimsy.  And when you take the car to the dealer because the targa top is rattling, pray that they don’t back the car into a Suburban.
There is certain Corvette educate that one must follow when driving, always wave to other drivers of Corvettes.  Secondly, never drive the Corvette like you are driving a Cadillac, You are supposed to drive this car as if your 21.  The owner of the corvette I drove is 87, and he still drives it like he is 21, fortunately it has not been impounded…Yet.

Pros — Acceleration, Looks, Price, Sound, Performance.
Cons — Cheap interior, flimsy body work, rattles from targa top, steering.

People will criticize the interior of the Corvette but if you compare to a Porsche without a
large leather package and over $10,000 worth of options I would say it's pretty
comparable.  That aside, the acceleration in this car is the fastest I have experienced.  The
transmission is a little clunky during around-town driving, but when you rev it past 3,000
rpm's and dump the clutch it's smooth and deliberate.  The exhaust note is a nice
combination of American muscle growl with a hint of European mechanical wine from the
engine.  The later-G gauge is fun to play with on back roads to see how many your pulling.
Overall just a wonderful sports car that can run with the best from Europe at half the
price.

Pros — The torque, the acceleration, and the overall drivability of the car
Cons — Interior was lacking a little and steering could be a little more precise
