The Bonneville is okay it is huge, slow and comfortable, kinda like a tank minus the gun. The looks cold be better it is your typical h-body car. The gas mileage is medium about 20 miles a gallon avg. which for 15 year old car isn't bad. The performance was weak in SSEI model, let alone this one which is natural aspirated, with abysmal 0-60 time of 9.6 seconds. The build quality is very nice only two minor problems my ac fan knob broke, and the headliner is loose, other than that it is great, only issue I had that was issue was the starter, and for 15 years that is good.

It gets decent gas milage and doesn't require much maintenance. It's a good car to have as a first car for a teenager, although i'm hoping to get a newer one soon and hopefully it'll be a truck. I prefer trucks over cars by a huge margin, just because they're a lot bigger and look like they can take on anything.
Pros:
It's already paid for, it's my parents old car, and it gets me from point A to point B.
Cons:
it's old, it squeaks horribly, and it looks like a granny car.

this car was dark blue metallic with a grey leather interior. it had a sunroof. it leaked.i punched holes in the floorpan to fix this problem-read let the water that came in escape. i took it to get a trans service. the monumental dumbasses at the merchants auto on 124 across the street from the veip emissions place in gaithersburg maryland failed to reconnect the oil feed line the the final drive gear while putting everything back together so after 100 miles it stranded me in a BAD part of prince georges county md. i totally gutted this car. nothing but drivers seat, front door skins , radio on the floor and instrument cluster on the hump leaning against the steering column remained. see facebook photos. shaved about 600 lbs i figure. much improved mileage and performance. best part, free. second best part, 'no i cant give you a ride.'

no rides. optima yellow top battery.

Out of the three cars i've owned in the past 3 years, I would have to say this is the best overall of them for sure. Its got the 3.8L V6 thats gets about 25mpg and acclerates very nice. The 1990's Bonnevilees are are known for the trannys to go out, but in mine, I have the orginal one that shifs smoothly and works like a dream, I guess it must depend on the matinence or something. The Bonneville I guess is a fun car to drive, it drives very smooth (like a Cadillac or a Buick) and handles great in the winter and the interior is styled very nicely, besides the fact though that the only cupholders it has in the fron t are on the interior door panels, oh and the power windows work PERFECT, better than any other car in are family, including my grandparents Lucerne. Its a great car to own, for any age.

IT'S ACTUALLY MY MOMS CAR, BUT SHE FEELS THE SAME WAY. WE'VE HAD SOME TROUBLE FROM THIS CAR AND NOW SHE IS TRYING TO PUT POWER STEERING FLUID IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKING UP AND SHE CAN'T EVEN FIND WHERE TO DO THAT. IT'S NOT A VERY IMPRESSIVE VEHICLE. |
