2000 Pontiac Bonneville Reviews

This is my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SE. I purchased the car from a dealer, who got the car from the F.B.I. It was valued at nearly $10,000 dollars when i bought it, stock. I replaced the factory tape deck with a $250 Pioneer CD player with an L.C.D. screen, with screen saver, and iPod hookups. I also added on a 1000 watt kenwood amp, to accompany the 2 Sony Xplod 12" sub-woofers that are 1300 watts apiece. The car itself has nearly every available option, such as; leather seats, leather steering wheel, ABS, tilt, cruise, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, powered drivers seat, dual clime zone control, rear defrost, key less entry, alarm system, 20% tint on all windows, and front and rear armrest/console/cup holder. The car is black, with chrome trimming. The interior is beige and tan. The engine is a 3800 Series II V-6. The 238ci engine produces about 230 horsepower and 220 ft. pounds of torque. It's driven by a 4-speed transmission, which is front wheel drive. The rims are stock 16" aluminum alloy, with Pontiac  emblems in the center. I love my car, and I plan on upgrading the engine, by adding a supercharger that is featured on the SSEI versions of the Bonneville. I also plan on upgrading the air intake to a cold air intake when I add the supercharger. I am also going to intergrate a dual exhaust system into the engine upgrades. Other than adding and programming a high performance chip, that is all the engine work i plan on doing to the car. The end result will be a 300hp+ car, that appears virtually stock. As far as cosmetic upgrades, I plan on adding a little chrome accent around the fender wells and door frames, as well as 20" chrome rims. I also want to get a chrome tag with the Pontiac emblem to go on the front of my car. I will add after market suspension, or airbags if necessary for the rims to fit and perform properly.

Performance: It has the 3.8L V6 and its got some weight
but it has the power to back it up. Acceleration is decent
and braking is fine. It handles great and because of its
weight, it rides very smooth!
Build Quality: Very solid car. No major repairs.
Appearance: Exterior of the SLE is silver is nothing under
gorgeous!! Interior is not only attractive, but verryy
spacious! Trunk is huge also!
Cost of Ownership: I've seen the MPG between 14.5 and
15.7 so it fluctuates a bit. It could be higher but it is a big
car after all. Maintenance, there's barely any.
Fun Factor: This is a very fun car to drive. The engine
has nothing big and special in it but you can still hear it
rev on the accelerator.

Could use a little better suspension.  With quality, too many window regulators and a leaky trunk that no one has been able to figure out.  It is an awesome looking car.  Just think Pontiac could have done just a little more to make it perfect.

I bought this car used.  It's a good performing car.  I love the torque and the supercharged engine.  With a few problems being addressed, I'm expecting to have this car for awhile.  I enjoy the appearance.  Most people think it is a brand new car.

One word, supercharger!  Big, fast, wonderful.  BUT, watch out for the sunroof drains.  They can come detached and allow water to leak into the car, this happened to me and filled my car with about 2" of water which made me gut the interior and let it dry out.  I still would recommend bonnevilles.
