2001 Pontiac Grand Am Reviews
| “My Baby” Reviewing:
2001 Used Pontiac Grand Am GT Coupe
What can I say about this car, I love it. This is the first car I've ever purchased from a dealership. I bought her in 2006, with only 9,998 miles on the ticker. She's already 5 years old!!!!! The previous owner was a GM executive and had a company vehicle so the Grand Am was his weekend cruiser!!! But anyways, The picture I posted above is from the day I bought her, she looks quite a bit different now. She's got a PONTIAC banner across the windshield, windows are tinted, 20% in the front, 5% on all the back windows. I used to have a 3.5 inch fiberglass cowl induction hood on her too but it got some nasty cracks in it over the winter so I had to get rid of that. She's a strong performer, I've done a handful of beautiful powerbrakes with her, locking up the e-brake on a hill of course lol. but yeah, the only complaint I have with the car is the fact that there is about a million of them on the road at any given time, but there is a good aftermaket out there for these cars so making one unique isn't too hard.
Pros —
Good looks, loads of aftermarket parts available
Cons —
Automatic

2001 Used Pontiac Grand Am SE
I love how it has held up, very good quality. I haven't had any problems with it so far. Bought it used with over 100 thousand miles, mostly highway miles. It's fun to drive, has a sleek look even though it is 7 years old. Very popular and a lot of people have them. Overall I love my car! Not as much as I will love my '61 Corvette someday though...
Pros —
It will last a long time
Cons —
It's not the hottest car and everybody and their dog owns one

I bought this car when my old one died, its an amazing car and it goes pretty fast but when i add a turbo it will go alot faster. Its white with the blackest tint you can get. I put straight pipes on it and the pipes ring nicely, nice and loud.
Pros —
Straight pipes, acceleration, handling, Cold air intake, Centre 3 gauges
Cons —
gas mileage

I NEED MORE POWER, but for a 4 cyl this car is awesome, id say its looks and power is above most 4 cyls, and I highly like the interior, hope to move up to a firebird sometime, but pontiacs are a good make in general ive shifted it manually before, lotta fun and beating rice in a 4 door is awesome lo
Pros —
ABS, Traction conrol
Cons —
electrical problems, all good now though

| “Good Car For The Money!” Reviewing:
2001 Used Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe
Pontiac has delivered an all around solid car. The 2.4 is a peppy motor, that delivers excellent performance throughout the power band. The Getrag 5 speed has light, short throws, with a light clutch. Handles well, though the car is a little heavy, with little body roll. Power steering is speed-sensitive, but is plagued with the same issue as many other GM products; the steering is rather 'numb', and does not have a good 'on-center' feel. The only thing aesthetically I don't like about the car is the ugly mouldings down each side of the car; the '03 and up models have done without them, and look much better. Overall, it's a good car. Good performance, and good mileage (I usually will get 4-500km per tank), however with gas at $1.22 a liter, a fill from dead empty will set you back around $60.
Pros —
2.4 engine is peppy, good mileage
Cons —
Mouldings don't look like they belong on the car!

2001 Used Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe
It gets me where I need to go, and I have only had a few things go wrong with it, but nothing major. Its pewter in color and has over a hundred thousand miles on it, but it has been very reliable. My grandfather bought it for me when my old car got stolen and wrapped around a telephone pole. God rest his soul. I'm dreading having to get rid of it but I guess sometimes you have to move on.
Pros —
sporty looking, reliable
Cons —
its getting old and may not be reliable for another year
