1996 Used Nissan 200SX 2 Dr SE-R Coupe: SWEET this car has the SR20DE engine in it,
its a solid car all around and it is pretty quick for being a 2.0
It has a short ram intake and a catback exhaust, also has a millimeter bigger spark plug wires.
NEXT UPGRADES: headers, cams, pulleys, and maybe swap the engine out for an SR20DET
Pros: everything about the car is hot
Cons: the brake dust gets on the rims.  the stock exhaust rusts easy so i switched it for an After market one and its sweet.

Great car with an epic engine, it's a bit of a widowmaker though. beware. First i must point out that this is a 180sx not a 200sx, due to the fact that the title was unavailable, it is a late model s13 model with the much sought after sr20det engine fitted as standard. It was an import and i was the first uk owner so i had many problems with it once i had bought it all down to the previous owner cutting corners, the japanese dont look after tuner cars quite as well as i thought.
How is it when it has no problems? very good i think, the build quality is good as you would expect from a japanese car, the interior is a nice place to be as long as there is no more than 2 people in the car. This is a 4 seater but the rear bench is for show only really, you really do struggle to fit 4 people in this car, my suggestion is make your passengers walk, they will appreciate you more.
The engine, by far the most important part of this car, it outputs around 205bhp @6000rpm with a torque figure of 202 ft.lbf @4000rpm in stock form which is enough to have a decent amount of fun in, one of my favorite things about this car is the fact that you can hear the turbo spooling up when you give it some. One thing i have noticed is that this car seems to find boost whatever rpm you are at, its not overly laggy, its not great but its not bad either. I have only minimal engine modifications (dump valve, intake, uprated plugs and screamer pipe) but it can keep up with impreza turbos on the strip which i think is very impressive.
I have two big problems with this car though, one of which is the brakes which are hopelessly inadequate, if any hard braking is needed they have no power, they fade and start to judder.
My seccond big problem is with the suspension, it wallows in the corners so badly its not even funny, the suspension seriously unsettles the car when driving at speed, even the slightest input will provoke weight shift on a massive scale which can land you in a huge amount of trouble.
One thing to bear in mind with this car is that it will go sideways extremely easily even with its lack of an active lsd, it is possible to drive very fast point to point in this car but you really do have to be awake to get the most from it, if you want to be lazy buy a subaru or something 4wd, in the wet be really really careful, this car will try to go sideways while driving down a straight if you apply the wrong amount of power.
My summary of this car would be: A great car with an epic engine with countless tuning potential, if you want to go sideways this is the car for you. just change the brakes and suspension first yeah?
Pros: Good looks, fantastic engine, good build quality, good at going sideways, great fun for not a lot of money.
Cons: Can drink fuel if driven hard everywhere, poor suspension, poor seats and scary brakes, could kill you if not sensible in the wet.

1996 Used Nissan 200SX 2 Dr SE-R Coupe: Boost bitzes! Car has a U13 SR20DET swap in it.  Currently running the T25 with 370cc injectors and a calum ecu.  FMIC, 2.5" piping, 3" stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust, NGK wires.  Soon to be running T28, 550cc injectors, N60 MAF, Profec Spec II boost controller at 20psi, LM-1 Wideband, and all the necessary guages.  I have a spare motor that is in the works as well.
