Excellent car, very reliable, good handling, good stereo, not too many around so you get looks.  Suspension could be a bit softer, in the winter tends to get rocks in the struts and makes a clunking sound. Good acceleration for a 2.4L and good on gas. Plus is has a 10 year warrenty.

My family used to own a Gallant, so I was open-minded when a rear-end collision took
out my Cobalt's trunk and let me try another car for a while. While the Schmidt family's
insurance policy repaired my Cobalt, I experienced a poorly built Lancer. The seats are
horribly uncomfortable. The dash is unattractive and unconventional. I don't like the
exterior at all, partly because the body looked so tall and partly because the geometry just
looked weird. Since it was a rental, I had no problem pushing it to the limit. It accelerates
well, but it gets up to a low top speed. Driving to St. Louis from Kansas was not fun in
seats that made me want to see a chiropractor. Don't get one of these.

From day one this car was exciting! From the 162HP/TQ to the EVO Short Shifter to the 6 speaker + 8" SUB 315W Infinity 6+1 in dash sound system, there is absolutly NOTHING I can say negatively about this car. The new body style has nothing on this 04-06 model!
