1992 Ford Thunderbird Reviews
| “This Thing Will Live Forever.” Reviewing:
1992 Used Ford Thunderbird 2 Dr LX Coupe
Damn. I'd have to say this is one of the best designed cars from the 80s or the 90s. Hell, mine was hit by a Semi square in the back. I was stopped, the Semi was estimated to be doing 50mph when he hit me because of the skid marks and when he finally stopped. I still drove that car around for another couple weeks until their insurance company offered nearly four times the kelly blue book value of the car. My only real problem was the 3.8L V6 engine. I always wanted more power. But as for speed, both me and my parents have had it in the 140s. It is also quite surprising acceleration-wise. Not too many turboed hondas or toyotas could keep up with my rear wheel drive, 140hp, 3500lb, automatic transmition, american luxury car with an independent rear suspension.
Pros —
Reliability, super durable construction, fast top speed, extremely low drag coeffecient
Cons —
don't make too many performance parts. mine was already in a couple wrecks before I got it. Interior was a great design but it definitely showed its age.

Quick car for its age, and even tho its pretty bad on gas it's still better then most vehicles that can keep up to it. It's ride is kinda rough but usually people that buy this car wouldn't care (at least they shouldn't), seeing as how it helps to corner a lot better that way.
Pros —
fast, good handling, a lot of fun, looks better then most other models
Cons —
kinda bad on gas, expensive to repair and upgrade, has some things on it that break pretty easy

Wow, here's a trip down memory lane. This was my first car. I bought it in exchange for $650 and fixing the previous owner's computer. Probably the only American car I'll ever buy as a main car... Probably the only coupe I'll ever buy as a main car too. I certainly had a love-hate relationship with this car. It's the first car I got pulled over in doing 110mph in a 55. The death of the water pump sealed the fate of this car as it sat in the driveway and was eventually sold to a junk yard for $100. In retrospect, it probably would have been better to blow it up and put it on youtube. *sigh*
Pros —
cheap, nice color, takes regular gas
Cons —
Way too many mechanical failures before 100k, American cars are not meant to last

This was the car I drove through high school. It wasn't always like this. The purpose of this car was to be a good daily driver/cruiser.
Pros —
Good looking reliable daily driver
Cons —
Slow and a pig on gas in spite of being a 6 banger
