1999 Used Mercury Mountaineer 4 Dr STD 4WD SUV
The 5.0L V8 engine was great although the auto transmision had a bit of lag when downshifting. As with most SUV's of that time,ride was crap (very bouncy) and handling wasn't great either as it rolled quite a bit. Was great off-road though... Unfortunately couldn't choose colour and ended up driving an ambulance...
Pros —
Great engine - comfy and versatile interior - decent off road capabilities
Cons —
Thirsty - fuel tank not big enough - bouncy ride
