My cherokee is great!  I have replaced the motor, of course, the clutch, suspension all around, every single brake part, including lines, alternator, fuel tank, exhaust, track bar, radiator, starter,  etc.  Jeep stands for: Just Everyone Else's Parts!  IT is true.   The jeep has never let me down, and just shy of 200k, it still starts right up after sitting for about 6 weeks!

Pros — Manual, 4wd, useful
Cons — Everything is always brokem, made in america with american quality, but at least it's not German!

Vehicle Specs

Year: 1992
Make/Model: Jeep Cherokee
Engine: I-6, 4.0L
Transmission: 4-speed auto
Front Diff: Model 30
Rear Diff: Dana 35C
Transfer Case: NP231
Front Suspension: 6-inch-lift coil springs
Rear Suspension: 6-inch-lift leaf springs and 13/4-inch blocks
Tires: 33x12.50-15 Yokohama Super Diggers
Wheels: 15x10 Center Lines

With a wheelbase of 101.4 inches, Cherokees have plenty of interior room to haul lots of family and gear and yet remain nimble enough to negotiate tight turns on the trail. They have great approach and departure angles so they're not as likely to leave paint on obstacles, unlike most other trucks of the same size.

Pros — Amazing offroading been in 2ft sludge and still never gotten stuck, incredibly powerful the 4ltr engen gets that thing going 0-60 in 6.3 sec wile pulling a 1.5 ton trailer, thats insain!!! THis is probably one of the best cherokees ever built!
Cons — gotten kinda old, the rear leaf springs need replacing along with a bunch of other stuff, just because its seen so much fun! But hey my life would be pointless if i did not have something to fix!

I've had this vehicle for around 4 years now. Since I bought it
I've put around 4k into it, beefing it up and adding some power.
The original 4L I-6 ran strong for 220k miles, then I needed more HP
to push the 30" tires with 3-3.5" of lift.

Pros — New Engine Power, trans+engine reliability. Stout 4X4.
Cons — Only around 12mpg with the new 4.7L I-6. Body needs some rust work.

I like that there is soo much low end torque that you can spin the tires if you hit the gas hard enough

Pros — TORQUE!!
Cons — bad brakes and slight understeer

Nothing fancy, it just performs exactly the way I want it to.

Pros — Tough, for being 16 years old, and having a ton of miles, I still consider it reliable.
Cons — Takes too much fuel!

This car is awesome. With over 200,000 miles on it, she is still going strong. I love my sweet ride.

Pros — Stops on a dime. Runs on anything.
Cons — She's getting old.

Take it off road, pack it full of mud, send it through the air and still drive it home!

Pros — High clearance, good torgue from the 4.0L, not to hard on gas, easy to find parts, spacious yet small enough to get between trees
Cons — Small for some things, some rust,(original MN SUV) wheeling can get expensive.

Have owned this for 7 years and rarely been disappointed. It has over 206,500 miles, doesn't burn or leak any oil and runs like a scalded cat! In fact, it feels stronger now than when I first got it! Over the past 2 years, I have had everything in the frontend rebuilt except for the lower control arms. All front & rear swaybar mounts have been replaced with urethane parts. The engine has never been apart and probably never will be unless a situation arises that necessitates it. Overall, I have been VERY pleased with this vehicle!

Pros — Great engine, nimble handling.
Cons — Rear door locks don't always unlock when the master unlock switch is pressed.
