2001 Jeep Cherokee Reviews
| “A Rock Solid Suv!” Reviewing:
2001 Used Jeep Cherokee 4 Dr Classic SUV
This is my Aunt's SUV, originally owned by my Uncle. I merely rode in it a couple times. It is a 2001 model with not even 40,000 miles on it, and it is in beautiful shape! It is a very nice, but very snug vehicle, at least for a 6-foot tall guy. The engine is the rock solid 4.0 liter Inline-6 engine mated to an automatic transmission. The handling is responsive enough, but being a Jeep, it is very truck-like in terms of the ride. The interior is comfortable enough, but still rather tight, and the backseat is very cramped for someone my size. I even have trouble getting through the back doors because they are kind of narrow. The Jeep has power windows and locks, cruise control, etc, as well as an aftermarket CD player with an iPod hookup. The vehicle was formerly owned by the Japanese Consolate or something, and it was purchased by some guy for his daughter, who later sold it to pay for his daughters college. My uncle was the one he sold it to. My uncle had too many cars and sold the Jeep to his twin sister after her 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo was totaled.
Pros —
Badass looks, absolutely rock solid and reliable, stereo with iPod jack, well equipped.
Cons —
No 4-wheel drive, tight cabin, fit and finish of dashboard not the greatest. Also, whenever the air conditioning is turned on, it works great and blows ice cubes, but the compressor shakes and rattles the whole truck when on.

From day one its needed nothing but the usual maintenence. It gets about 20 miles to the gallon on the highway so its not too expensive to drive. Its an offroad champ stock! No need for a lift or bigger tires, ive yet to get stuck on rocks or mud
Pros —
offroad ability stock, well built engine
Cons —
none

| “It's A Jeep.” Reviewing:
2001 Used Jeep Cherokee Sport 4WD
If you like nice riding luxury SUV's stay away from this one. If you like an SUV that is reliable and off road capable, then you would like it. This was the last year of the Cherokee, the last solid axle SUV you could buy. After the Cherokee Jeep released the Liberty, which is IFS. There are tons of aftermarket parts for Cherokees, including all kinds of lifts, bumpers, roof racks, etc. Mine is stock right now, but when the warranty is up I plan on lifting it and running 31" tires.
Pros —
Off road capable, reliable, fun to drive.
Cons —
Harsh ride, not a lot of storage room

2001 Used Jeep Cherokee Sport 4WD
Best vehicle ive ever driven. amazing offroad, and can still handle extremly well on the road. poor gas mileage, but who cares, its a jeep. I still need to get 35s and regear and do bumpers, but as of right now it can take me anywhere i wanna go. even more fun since the front two doors are now removeable
Pros —
Style, offroad capability, 4.0L engine is bullet proof
Cons —
gas mileage, funny looks when doorless
