this car drives just as well as the day I bought it. It
gets great gas mileage on the highway as well as in
the city and is about as good as you're going to get
with a Civic without moving into Civic Si's. Mild
maintenance needed, handling could be better but
overall it is a great car to own.

Pros — Gas mileage, 6 disc CD changer, power sunroof, interior/exterior styling
Cons — Handling

This was a Honda Civic Type-R, 2.0 petrol with VTEC. I bought it from new and sold it at three years, partly because I was bored with its good features and began to see the disadvantages more clearly. You really need to drive this car, but its performance and road holding was superb, although its turning circle wasn't great and could be hard to park in some car parks.  I was getting about 240 miles/tank which means that I was spending more time at the garage than I wanted. It has the most flexible gearbox I have ever used, it just doesn't care.

The only repairs I had to have done were body work repairs.

I like its cut down look, and butch radiator grill, but its not for everyone's taste.

On the down side, it is very noisy, exacerbated by the VTEC engine which delivers its best acceleration at 6000 rpm +. Sloppy driving can lead to a very jerky ride for passengers, and the Recarro seats arn't always very comfortable for longer journeys.

Pros — flexible gear box, butch looks, reliable
Cons — incredibly noisy, small fuel tank and water reservoir, not very comfortable for longer journies

Great, need more acceleration. Its great in the
handeling but it needs a lot more power becuase when
you whant to pass another car it takes a lot or a lot of
effort for the car. With some more power it would
work just fine. a a a a a

Pros — Great handeling
Cons — Need more power

I bought this car for my 150 mile daily commute. It started out at 36mpg and 90,000 miles later, it gets 30-32mpg. Interior build quality is average. 2006 model has all of the improvements I wish mine had. I wouldn't call it a fun car to drive but it is dependable.

Pros — Good gas mileage. Dependable. No repairs needed to date.
Cons — It's a commuter car.

I got the value package so it was real cheap but not a good build quality, and lacking in performance transmission build, brakes, and style.  The performance is there and has potential but doesn't really have much pick up even at upper RPMs but it corners nice, just too much body roll and lacking in breaking power despite the low body weight.  engine is a Honda so its great engine they should have just put more thought into the build quality of the interior

Pros — Good engine, strong car, great economy
Cons — crummy interior, no performance

Reviewing: 2005 Used Honda Civic Value Package

I love this car. In my opinion, the exterior looks better than the 8th gen civics. It could use some more power, but you can't beat 35 mpg. The interior is much better than others in its class with a very clean looking dash and center stack. Back seat leg room is adequate and there's plenty of room for cargo in the huge trunk. I bought it new 3 years and almost 40000 miles ago and I haven't had any problems. My only real complaint is that at highway speeds there is a little more road noise than I would like. I would also invest in some different tires if you plan on much winter driving since the stock tires don't offer much grip in the snow.

Pros — very reliable, great interior, 35 mpg
Cons — road noise, a little lite on power.
