| “John's Explorer” Reviewing:
1998 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT AWD SUV
I think that this this was a very solid year for the Ford Explorer. The interior is very nice the seats are very comfy. The sound system is excelent for a 98. it handles very well for an SUV, and it looks very sharp, and I love it verry much!
Pros —
It's looks great
Cons —
The gas Mileage isn't so hot

This truck has over 118,000 miles on it and going strong. Sad to say gonna have to let her go, need more room to haul around family. Take care of this truck and it will take care of you. I love driving this car, has the power to pass when needed.
Pros —
getting too small.
Cons —
i don't have any.

| “Ford Explorer 2 Door Sport. 4.0 Sohc Ho V6” Reviewing:
1998 Used Ford Explorer 2 Dr Sport SUV
I bought the SUV from my grandpa in April of 08. It only had 105,000 miles on and it runs like a champ. Really fast, sturdy, and fun SUV. Good job Ford. The SUV doesn't get many looks but when i those annoying guys in the riced out civics and crap pull up next to me and rev their little 1.8 litre 4 bangers i just laugh and step on the pedal and the awesome sound from my tailpipe just shuts em up. Aceleration in first gear may not be the best but second gear is the power gear. I can pull 50 in 1st gear almost 85 in 2nd gear and i havent really taken past 108 in 3rd so i'm not 100% sure about the rest but the point is, for a HO V6 this thing can boogey. Gas milage leaves a little to be desired but with a cold air intake, header back exhaust, hotter plugs, and some good tires the SUV would gain at least 50 HP and about 10 MPG. Bringin it from 20 some to 30 some hopefully. Not bad for my second vehicle
Pros —
Great SUV, fun, easy to repair (if needed)
Cons —
Gas prices suck and this isn't so easy on ur wallet

| “The Beast” Reviewing:
1998 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT SUV
The radio doesn't stay in, not the best acceleration...transmission makes awkward noisees when sitting...the doors are kinda hard to open...someone shot a paintball at the floor on the inside!!! The Vin number comes up as two different things (Eddie Bauer 2WD and Explorer Sport 4WD), the paint is chipped, there are lots of dings...but overall it's pretty nice. Great back seat, it folds flat ;)

| “This Car Is Crackalackin” Reviewing:
1998 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV
New from the ground up, the Explorer replaced the Bronco II as Ford's compact sport-utility vehicle. Both 2- and 4-door body styles went on sale. The 2-door used a 102.1-inch wheelbase, and the 4-door a 111.9-inch wheelbase. The sole engine in early years was a 4.0-liter V6. Both body styles came with either on-demand 4-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. Antilock brakes operate only in rear-wheel drive. Power steering was standard. Until 1994, Mazda sold a nearly identical 2-door sport-utility called Navajo.
Pros —
Acceleration
Passenger and cargo room 4WD traction Antilock brakes (optional later models) Visibility
Cons —
Fuel economy
Engine noise (ohv V6) Wind noise |
| “A Nice Overall Car” Reviewing:
1998 Used Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV
A very nice car with pretty good handling. It's a very capable car and has room for 5. It's also pretty luxurious considering the original purchase price. The two drawbacks are that it is a bit tall and presents a rollover risk, and that the mileage is not good at all in the city, but out on the highway it is really nice.
Pros —
Awesome acceleration, nice handling, excellent visibility, easy to drive, rear seats fold down for extra storage
Cons —
bad mileage, tall, high risk of rollover
