It was a good SUV when we had it. We only got rid of it because my mom wanted an automatic.

This is perfect for me...can pack half a house hold in there or put the seats up if you need to.

Even though it is a two-wheel drive Explorer, the engine makes it a great car. The auto 'box is pretty bad and seems mismatched as when I press hard on the accelerator, nothing happens until a second before you take the pressure off. Then the gearbox shifts, so when overtaking someone in traffic the task becomes impossible. However, one can take it easy because the stereo system is superb. Reliability in the interior section has been a little rough with parts of the steering wheel breaking off and the door either not opening or not locking. The brakes seem a little hard to press down, but do give confidence in stopping power.
