2000 Ford Excursion Reviews

2000 Used Ford Excursion XLT 4WD
Its a Police Interceptor V-10 XLT Package. Fast and Solid Ride , oversized rotors and oil cooled transmission. No frills police package, only basics. Bought with 24,000 miles and currently @ 90,000 miles with only a few problems in the past 8 years ( nothing really bad or costly ) . Love to eat brakes and rotors for breakfast ,lunch, and supper. Great investment and has paid for itself more than once. Hauls everything from my bulldozer to my horses. Built Ford Tough . Pulled my share of vehicles from ditches / snow storms and hard to get places.
Pros —
Great People Mover / Great Handling, Strong Engine & Transmission. Reliable and faithful. Overall great value if you have money for gas !!!! Great bang for buck.
Cons —
Premature Undercarriage Surface Rust, Eats Breaks and Rotors, Hubs Seized at 45,000 mile, Only get 10-12 miles per gallon, Tuneups are impossible.

Great car mine's an XLT 4x4 Police Inspector V12 With the turbo great car for big family just like a bus but with a kick mine the police gave away because they moved on the the police Expeditions which is a step down in size the car feel's better then any car I've sat in including the Bugatti Vernon i has the kick acceleration like a Crown Victoria and feels like a sports car I've had it 8 years and still don't want to get rid of it.
Pros —
Great for big family's seats 8 luxury interior only few were made still remains to be the biggest SUV in America decent pricing. great for hulling things like cars i brought home my excavator home using it it weight 7Tons Amazing for a truck to hull.
Cons —
Big hard to park in lots Bad gas millage scary time for me right now gas is 4.39$ a gallon at the cheapest gets 10.2 miles to a gallon in 4x4 millage is like 6.3 a gallon
cost over 239.34$ to fill tank completely empty to full |

This SUV is the top of the line in Land yachts. The Electra 225 started it and the Ford Excursion redefined it!!! The thing i really love about my truck is the space had a gmc suburban before the ford and i know the troubles chevy put out in those suv's. As far as gas the in town is about 11.3 and the hwy gets up to about 14. I can do everything i need with this SUV the only thing i wish it had was the power folding 3rd row seat.
Pros —
Biggest SUV ever and more comfortable then my Benz S500
Cons —
Not all parking lots are created equal so park out away from everyone else!!!!

| “Avoid, Go Get A Suburban Instead” Reviewing:
2000 Used Ford Excursion XLT 4WD
Had it for 2 months and was glad to be rid of it. Terrible handling, horrible gas mileage and poorly built.
Pros —
Fit 8 people comfortably (I would say even better than the Suburban), tons of cargo space.
Cons —
Big, ugly and handled like crap. Inside felt plasticky and cheap. Gas mileage is the worst I've ever seen.

With two tall teenage son's it was a necessity to have a larger vehicle. Plus my husband loves the "get-up-n-go" that it has with the V-10. But the gas range could be better in today's economy.
Pros —
room
Cons —
gas mileage

Hauling boats around the country requires an engine/tranny combo that doesn't need to downshift every time we come to a slight rise in the highway. The 7.3L diesel performs better than any other vehicle, gets over 17mpg around town, and is comfortable, too. |
