2005 Ford Fusion Reviews

I bought it coz it had the best seat height, like sitting on a chair at home rather than inside a bucket. Interior space is awesome...friends having Optra's or Corolla's comment immediately afetr getting in the car. Besides, the glass area is wonderful, giving you clear vision all-round. The engine & transmission of Ford in India is to be experienced...its a joy to drive such a slick vehicle.
There are problems though...terrible, terrible low speed ride. Bump, thump, thump, jar, jar, jar on Mumbai roads. Beyond 40 kmph there is a remarkable improvement in ride, and after 80 kmph there are very few cars that can beat the Fusion. Cost of ownership is high...best to take an annual maintenance scheme...too many small items fail...door mirror ass'ly, window guards, splash guards, hoses, wiper blades...replacement costs at Ford India are much too high for comfort.

The Ford Fusion,is supposed to be a crossover type of vehicle,however,Ford;s application leaves a lot to be desired!
It;s neither tall enought to be a 4x4,nor does it have enough seats to be called an mpv.
It;s more practical than the Fiesta that it;s based on,and it is quite roomy,even in the rear.
The 1.4 TDCI engine,although lacking in outright performance,more than makes up for this with economy of upto 60mpg,and is more refined than diesels of yesteryear.
Servicing costs are very acceptable,being a Ford,and so far it has never broken down.
The Fusion drives much the same as the Fiesta,so the handling is safe as long as your not trying to break the lap record at the Nurburgring,and only displays slightly more body roll due to the increased height over its Fiesta sibling.
Unfortunatly,the build quality does lack somewhat,this car appears to have been built down to a budget,with acres of grey plastic and ill fitting dashboard pieces,also the exterior trim has come adrift on more than one occasion!!
I think i would own one again if the build issues have been addressed,although a Focus econetic looks more likely to appear on the top of my shopping list.
