2000 Dodge Dakota Reviews
| “2000 Dodge Dakota R/t” Reviewing:
2000 Used Dodge Dakota Base
This is for a 2000 Dakota R/T. Performance was a little less than thrilling in stock form. However it takes well to mods and can be a real powerhouse. One of the most important things to do is reflash the PCM for a performance tune. It also handles extremely well. It has 95,000 miles on it now with no major or costly repairs and I don't baby it either. The cost of ownership is a bit much. When I bought it, we were all complaining that gas was $1.50 a gallon. $4 a gallon really changes driving habits with this vehicle. Now that I have it the way I like it, I wouldn't be happy driving any other truck.
Pros —
Just too much fun!
Cons —
You have to buy gas a lot lol

2000 Used Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4WD
The Dodge Dakota is one of the best if you are looking for a mid sized pickup, its not to big and its not to small. mine has the 287 4.7L v-8 so it has pretty good acceleration although it could be better. I think that the truck handles pretty good on just about any kind of surface except gravel roads that have that washboard effect on them, then it handles horrible. The build quality of the truck overall seems to be pretty good although i have noticed that my tailgate does squeak and rattle and it is annoying when you have the rear sliding window open. I think the styling of the truck inside and out is pretty good and i dont think i would change anything on the outside of the truck. The gas mileage is not to bad on the highway as long as you are going about 60mph-65mph you will see 16-24mpg depending on how flat the road is and how much wind there is. However if you are going to go 75mph-80mph on the interstate dont plan on seeing anything better than 15mpg. Gas mileage in town all depends on how much acceleration you want when the light turns green, my average for in town is about 14mpg. My truck is 4x4 which makes it a pretty fun vehicle to drive when it snows of when you go off-road, however if you are going to be off-roading a lot in this truck i would plan on getting some mud tires because before i got my mud tires i found it easy to get my truck stuck. Now that i have had these new mud tires on it i have not been stuck once.
Pros —
Looks awesome, really dependable never leaves me stranded.
Cons —
No front recovery hooks, short bed on quad cab models, needs a little more power.

2000 Used Dodge Dakota Base
My truck is a Dakota R/T. They aren't all that impressive today in stock form, but when they came out in 98 they really were special. They sure do take mods very well though. I think I finally have it the way I want it too. I wouldn't trade it for any other truck.
Pros —
Great performance. Easy to make good power with mods.
Cons —
Buying gas all the time, sucks. I guess its worth it though

2000 Used Dodge Dakota Base
i do like the truck because it is noce and comfortable with the two bucket seats. but if you want a 3rd adult sitting in the middle it will be cramped and the seat is kinda uncomfortable to sit in. but onto the bed it is a nice 61/2 foot bed. it is the only truck considerded in its class. but overall built very well. for some reason the breaks lock up but that could be just because it hasnt been driven in 2 months
Pros —
how it is a small truck that gets decent gas milleage
Cons —
the two dents in the passangers side

| “Damn Good Truck” Reviewing:
2000 Used Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4WD
This is the most under rated truck out there. i'll pull you through a mud hole and rip ur bumper off. then we'll turn around and line them up on the street and will leave you staring at the tail lights. love to drive this little truck.
Pros —
tuff little machine
Cons —
motor trouble

It has lots of cab room for the family and hauling stuff. The bed doesn't fit a four wheeler unless the doors down, so that sucks.
Pros —
lots of cab room
Cons —
gas guz
