2001 Dodge Dakota Reviews
| “R/t Poer” Reviewing:
2001 Used Dodge Dakota 2 Dr Sport Extended Cab SB
lets start by saying that is not a Dakota 'sport' rather it is a R/T with a 5.9 liter V8. this thing hauls some serious ass and i love it. rear wheel drive with a 3.92 rear gears in a Chrysler 12 bolt LSD. nothing has broken on this car and the magnum motor is a bombproof torque monster. god bless America. not only can i beat the hell out of a ricer, but i can then tow a boat to the lake. only in America....
Pros —
power and lots of low end torque
Cons —
performance parts are about 30% more expensive than for a SBC or SBF

| “Great Beginner's Truck!” Reviewing:
2001 Used Dodge Dakota 4 Dr SLT Crew Cab SB
The truck didn't have very good acceleration, but I think there was something wrong with the engine. It reminded me of a little bug how it was shaped. It was maroon so very pretty. On average, 18 mpg and I have only had to replace rotors and calipers because I jumped a hill hard. This truck isn't exactly fun, but its efficient.
Pros —
Very roomy, heater like an oven, great sound, handles winter conditions decent.
Cons —
Small truck, no engine power.

2001 Used Dodge Dakota 2 Dr SLT 4WD Extended Cab SB
I love my truck. Acceleration is no problem. It's got speed when you want it and tourque when you need it. It stops on a dime and handles like a car. I have always liked the Dodge pick-up body style from this era. The only downside is with the cost of gas the truck isnt very efficient but i knew that when I bought it.
Pros —
Looks, performance
Cons —
gas mileage

| “Its A Great Little Truck.” Reviewing:
2001 Used Dodge Dakota 2 Dr Sport Standard Cab SB
Its 2WD with a V6 and a manual tranny. I swapped in a 9 1/4 rear axle last year into it to have the larger brakes and more strength. It gets great gas mileage, has plenty of power, and is great at hualing items.
Pros —
good gas mileage, small yet stronge for its size
Cons —
the V6 is not a V8

2001 Used Dodge Dakota 2 Dr SLT Extended Cab SB
Lets see, what I like is that it has been very dependable. Looks sharp. I get about 18 to 20 mpg. Not bad for a truck...the V-6 is a little under powered. The crew cab has a full bench back seat. Ford and Chevy's small trucks didn't have.
